Im pretty sure i tried that, but i will double check when i get back. Ill be kicking myself if that is all it was! Another problem i have (for reason users) is that when I play drum patterns on channel 10 they do play the notes in Redrum once i have assigned it in the midi routing device at the top ...

Yornav, you made me lough with your final remark, your english is excellent as its your explanation,THANX!! Orbit,i am curios, why do you think ableton is geared more towards soft synths? From what I hear Ableton has latency issues when working with external gear. It's designed to be more of an "in ...

Nice write up.

Anyone looking for a great dubstep maching should try an EMX. The LFO is perfect for wobble and the synth engine can make some ripping bass tones.
I've got some examples on my soundcloud page of live LFO tweaking dubstep madness.

Basically, you need to get the midi form the tribe into your DAW (Ableton) IF the tribe can save midi files (I've never tried), do that and then load them into your DAW. If not then set up the tribe to send and record the midi into your DAW. I'm not an Ableton user but I have a similar workflow only ...

I think using the maximizer over the main mix is fine. That is kind of what they are designed for. The compressor would be great over the drums, or over just the EMX, however only if you really want that sound, if you're a fan of compression. I think another possibility would be to use it to route ...

Live sound question

Hey guys. I need some help with brainstorming some routing possibilities for my live/recording setup. I have a small production studio/live sound setup consisting of: Korg Triton Rack Korg Prophecy Korg EMX-1 All of which are fed into a Makie 1202VLZ and the main mix then goes to a maximizer. I ...

I used to be in an indietronica band where I used my korg setup, I also do music for videogames, websites and hopefully one day filmscore.

On my own I write and perform drum and bass and dubstep and have a studio project called Silicon Suicide which is kind of new-age/industrial dance rock.

I'd assume it's the tubes. AFAIK they're the only components that are affected by heat.

So it did work at one time? Where'd you get the kit? I have an external drive that I'd love to mount internally but not sure how to do the SCSI connection since the card's port faces outward. If it was working before and now isn't, I'm stumped...if it never worked I'd recheck all the connections and ...

But i dont hear that word used much here unless its being used to refer to the old school days. Yeah I come across that sometimes too, and generally someone calling a party or anything a ...

The word Rave still seems to be used a lot in the states, in the UK we dont really use it ever. it brings up to many images of 80's clubbers chewing there heads off flinging themselves around with glowsticks. The music being little more that an extremely loud kick drum 4 to the floor beat. I'm from ...

We have 2/3rd of the same setup it seems. I use a yamaha RM1x to sequence my EMX and an M-audio 49 key controller to play it but most modulation and control changes I do on the EMX myself, unsequenced. You've got a really powerful combo there as far as sound creation. I'd sequence it with a computer ...
