My hope is to use both. The KP3 certainly isn't as useful as a monome, but being able to run something like mlr or plinko on it, while using the launchpad for other apps seems pretty ideal (not to mention that the KP3 is pretty much worthless as a midi controller in Live anyhow) and this would make ...

just curious how this has come out. I'm going to give it a shot within the next week.

I'm using Live 8 & M4L, using Monomeemu for the Launchpad...forsee any problems so long as I'm using the right prefix & listening for the right ports?

wow, way to be an asshole. I wasn't the only one in this thread who was curious about such possibilities. Frankly, I have more than enough gear to keep me busy as it is. The build looks pretty much identical, and I'm sure someone will tear one open before long and we'll find out anyhow. Given the ...

this was brought up earlier in the thread, but i didn't see a response, so I'll ask: From a hardware perspective, is there any difference between the KP3 and KOPro? If so, and the real difference is in the software, would korg release a firmware upgrade or a patch or something to allow the KP3 to be ...

never said I hadn't found anything, smartass. I was only responding to your original posting. If you thought it was idiotic, why did you respond at all to a topic started in January and just naturally assume that something hadn't been found. You hopped on the train 8 months late buddy, not I. So ...

in response to xmiguy: My set-up is based on lots of delays and looping on the fly, and having as much flexibility as possible with manipulating the sound (I'm also running some other odd effects through my set up to keep it interactive)...having more looping options, the better. this kind of stuff ...

Said it before and I'll say it again: Get your hands on an Alesis Air Fx (and possibly the Airsynth-the two together are a great combo).

Run whatever other synths/guitars/whatever through that and the KP3 and you can get some amazing stuff. Possibilities become pretty endless.

I use both the alesis airsynth and alesis air fx through the kaoss pad. That's the ideal way to run it...I have tons of stuff I have recorded with this set up. The possibilities are nearly endless. Actually, I've recently started running it through the effect loop in my line 6 vetta ii, which allows ...

I realized that I wasn't clear in my post last night. What I meant is that I have multiple inputs of guitar (and voice or other miked instruments) from the same source guitar line (for example, a clean or delayed guitar on one track, juxtaposed with the identical part but played through the head ...

I have only recently purchased the kp3, but I've found that it integrates into my set well. I run a delay pedal with dual outs between a Line 6 Vetta II HD into a usb mixer, into the KP3, and back into a mixer channel. I also run a clean line direct from the pedal into the mixer, and everything out ...

Loopers and the KP3

Has anybody tried connecting a loop pedal (I'm specifically looking at the Boss RC-50, which does have MIDI I/Os) to the KP3, either to run loops into the pad which can then be altered, or as a MIDI controller? How did this work for you? I am trying to run guitar (via a Line 6 Vetta II HD), voice ...

that cleared up most of the issue...it took forever to get this set up properly. thanks.

Regardless, I'm still curious to hear mixer recommendations or ways that you're using your kaoss pad beyond as a DJ tool.

Kaoss Pads and Mixers

I'm just curious, of those of you who are not DJs and are using the Kaoss Pad (specifically the KP3) into a small mixer, what are you using and why did you choose it? I have the Alesis MultiMix8 USB mixer, and it works well for other instruments, but when I try and route the Kaoss Pad through it, I ...
