Controlling intensity of a motion sequence
I use my Modwave with Cubase DAW. Is there a way to automate the intensity of a motion sequence so that the effect can be smoothly brought in and out rather than just started and stopped? This should surely be a simple thing but I can't find a way. Perhaps I'm missing something obvious.

Firmware update to MkI to be released... soon?
I recently contacted Korg to express my annoyance that they released the MkII Modwave with free-running LFOs which were a significant omission from the MkI that should have been corrected by a firmware update. They replied: "There are plans to provide an update to the original modwave to offer the ...

I bet the Modwave II has free-running LFOs
I held off buying my Modwave because it has no free-running LFOs, which are essential for creating good drones and pads. The only way I can do it is using the Kaoss pad, which is a waste of good LFOs. Korg could, at any time, have provided an update to fix this. I've not investigated but I suspect ...

Unable to make the Windows driver work
After I had to reinstall Windows 10 and all my software, I find that I can't make the Korg USB Windows driver see the Modwave any longer. Device Manager sees the Modwave, but the Korg driver setup utility tells me no device is plugged in.

Sample Builder not accepting note data from Modwave
I have the Builder app working under Win 11; it is connected to the Modwave as shown under Device. Imported samples play on the onscreen keyboard and from other MIDI keyboards, but not from the Modwave. I have checked that the Modwave is set up - it has Local On and it will play other sound devices ...

OK, so I've tested this. You can simulate a free-running LFO with the Kaoss physics engine and using the Offset Mod Processor. Fabulous. Thank you. It works... just about. I set it exactly as you suggest and the result is close to a free-running LFO. What keeps it from five stars as a workaround is ...

Yeah, it's not immediately obvious but you can do this. Turn on Sync Notes for the LFO and you'll have a LFO that does not restart with each key press. If it helps, this is from the manual: SYNC NOTES [Off, On] This is controlled by the SYNC NOTES button. Off: The LFO starts each time you press a ...

Letting the Morph LFO run
I'm new to the Modwave and I want to use the Morph LFO at a very slow speed to modulate the Morph amount. It seems that this is rather restricted, as (looking at the Editor software) the LFO restarts with every new key press. I'm wanting the effect of slowly rotating the Morph knob from 0 to 10 and ...

Fixed velocity curve
Is it possible to fix the keyboard velocity at 127? None of the nine curves available seems to offer this obvious function.

unsure if Korg released a full MIDI implementation spec for the Modwave. One thing you can try though is recording Set List Changes and Performance Changes from the Modwave to Cubase to see what the MW transmits and then send those back to the Modwave on playback to see what happens... Thanks, I'll ...

Using Program Changes to select Performances
I use my Modwave with Cubase DAW and I'm unsure how to use program change messages to remember a Performance inside a song. Using Cubase's own Bank/Program selector seems to produce only the Init Performance, no matter which bank or program is transmitted. Perhaps someone will advise me.

Modwave editor not seeing device: SOLVED
I have a new Modwave. It was difficult to get my Windows 10 PC to communicate with it; I installed the Korg driver (which should not be required) and found it working on USB MIDI (0). My Cubase DAW sees it, as does the MIDI-OX utility. But not the editor/librarian software supplied by Korg, which ...

NTS-1: does the arpeggiator send its notes out?
I'm thinking of buying one of these dinky synth kits. Its simple arpeggiator can be played from the internal keyboard. Does it send its notes out over the USB MIDI port?
