left hand voice hold on PA5X?

I am considering upgrading to PA5X from Yamaha SX900. I like the SX900 Left Hand "Hold" panel button which basically holds sustain type voices such as choirs, pad and strings when you lift your hand off the keys while the style is playing. I am trying to determine from the manual if PA5X does ...

Wavestate SE availability?

The Wavestate SE is not listed on Sweetwater or Guitar Center's websites in the U.S. Why would that be?

LFO’s FAQ seems to be saying the Sample Builder app will manage the samples from their multiple packs so that they are accessible in one place. So on Korg’s Sample Builder download page I see it’s only available in Windows not Mac. Not good. Plus I am reading some users are complaining that the LED l ...

Thanks, will check out that section on the FAQ.

Wavestate Mk2 has not been in stock at my preferred stores Sweetwater and Guitar Center. Maybe they have been selling out there.

Storage for expansion packs?

I am a potential buyer of Wavestate Mk2 (if it ever comes out) to pair with my SX900. What is the storage capacity for 3rd party external packs that use samples? For example, will I be able to store onboard like say 5 different packs that come with samples from LFO’s store?

Not using any of the sounds in mono. I don't even know where that setting is. They are all coming out in nice stereo through the built-in speakers. It's just the piano sound you get for a $450 do-it-all consumer level type of keyboard. Just upgraded to a MODX, the pianos and choirs are in another ...

amp

I bet it would sound different through an amp. I don't have an amp to try this. I will try it with a small set of external monitors. Leaning to upgrading sound capability with a MODX synth, will have to do without the styles and auto-accompaniment.

choir packs

Thanks, Chris,
Yes, Yamaha choirs are pretty good. I probably am going to go the MODX7 route, as that has good pianos, the choirs, and other sounds all for about $1600 which is a good deal less than the Nautilus, of which I know less about

I'll take another look at mixing a brighter piano with a mellower one. Some of those Casio's have pretty decent pianos.

You'll need to wait for others to respond to most of those questions, but I do know the Styles are not editable to change out kits other than adjusting Style "tempo", "volume", and turning on and off the "drum", "percussion", "bass", and "other parts" buttons

cannot improve the thin Grand Piano sound

This is decent sounding board. I plan to upgrade to a more professional board, as one of my big disappointments with this is how thin the grand piano sounds. I tried layering other acoustic pianos but it just creates a slightly more detailed yet still thin piano sound. Has anyone found a layer ...

choir recording

Below is a YTube link to most of the MODX choir category Performance sounds. I think the first sound is all you need to hear, it's called "Choir Service", a soundtracky solid choir sound. Sure, you can send a Nautilus similar choir sound file if you have time, not sure if you can post it in this ...

re: Nautilus buying advice needed

Thanks Dan, I heard the Vangelis pack for Kronos, it is indeed excellent in my opinion and definitely captures the essence of Vangelis' sound. I suppose I am looking at on board choirs on the Nautilus first, then would consider an add on pack such as this one. Unfortunately stores near me just don't ...
