In case this helps someone, I solved my problem. I narrowed the problem down via the test mode. Turn power on while holding EDIT MODE and STEP 1 switches. Then after boot, press SHIFT. I bought a used Prologue 16 off of Reverb and it displays a bad problem. When in an Init Program patch it is easily heard in Poly mode.
