Re: Korg Multi / Poly vs KingKORG

Here’s my conclusion: The Multi/Poly is a powerful, modern synth for deep sound design and complex layering, while the original KingKORG is more immediate and player-focused, excelling at classic analog and digital emulation with a simpler interface. Choose Multi/Poly for versatility and depth; ...

Multi/Poly SE?

I think the Multi/Poly is a revolutionary synth and will become part of history, just like the Mono/Poly did. You can really tap into its glorious VA sound. That being said, for a synth with such depth and capability IMO it really needs a bigger keyboard with 61, or at the very least 49, keys ...

Wavestate SE flimsy joystick

Thanks for the info and advice guys. From your descriptions it looks like the joystick on my unit is how it’s supposed to be and with care it will hold up okay. So I feel reassured. Btw, I’m always careful with my synths and am never rough with them. I love how the joystick enables you to swap bet ...

Wavestate SE flimsy joystick

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it does stay in position after I move it. I know it shouldn’t feel anything like a pitch bend/modulation joystick, like on for example the KingKORG. Perhaps, as you say, it needs to be light to smoothly transition between vector points. It just feels very light in its b ...

Wavestate SE flimsy joystick

I just got the Wavestate SE and noticed that the joystick is really light with no resistance at all. Is that how it’s supposed to be? It works okay, but it’s really flimsy.

Where the heck is the Wavestate SE?

Any word on the Wavestate SE? It’s been over two years since Korg announced it and they have been suspiciously silent since. I wonder if they’ve dumped it. It would be such a shame if they’ve canned it as it showed such promise. A synth as deep and complex as the Wavestate should have 61 keys IMO, ju ...

KingKORG and Blofeld

So you didn’t keep it? I would probably get the big brother X if I was going for that synth. Unfortunately, i don’t play enough to justify another purchase like that. Plus, I’m really thinking of getting a waldorf blofeld. Seems like it would be a good companion to the KK. I have a Blofeld (the keyb ...

If anybody really thinks the KK is rubbish, then one listen to this sound set ought to change their minds very quickly. I'm not advertising it. I just stumbled across it and now I"m seriously thinking of purchasing it. Great sounds! https://youtu.be/h-vE-EiX4ZA Fantastic soundset which demonstrates ...

Since originally posting, I discovered that Korg have an SQ 64 sequencer coming out soon, which on first glance, looks like it will fit the bill perfectly... The SQ-64 is a fantastic sequencer, but it’s a LOT pricier than the SQ-1. If you just want to do basic, relatively simple sequences I would r ...

Rather than go through the BS of trying replace the entire keybed, you might be better served using another board as a midi controller and the KK as a sound module? I agree. I have the Blofeld Keyboard and it has lovely Fatar keys with aftertouch. It is beautifully built. I use it as my main ...

Korg Wavestate SE

Like you, I have been patiently waiting for the release of the Wavestate SE for the last two years. In fact, I have held back on buying the Wavestate as I would love a 61 key version, just like the original Wavestation, which was one of my favourite synths back in the day. It is very frustrating ...

Korg Wavestate SE ; ETA and pricing?

I think Korg should have just gone with a desktop module option or 61 key full size synth option right out the gate with their new synths. As they are right now, it's a bit too cramped for "players" and a bit too cumbersome to use as a dedicated module. Many would disagree - I know I do. Wavestate ...

No battery needed. Just hook it up to your powered guitar or synth and it works!
