PROBLEM SOLVED
I fixed my problem of not transferring all my changes to the styles - I had to save a backup file first and do a 'restore backup' on the new keyboard, (page222 of the manual) then loaded in my .set file and all is complete - I have LH voices unmuted and changed as per other keyboard So it takes TWO ...

Mute/un-mute left hand voice not being saved
I want to transfer all my settings from one PA50 to another, and my problem is this - I have un-muted the left hand in over a hundred style sts's, but this won't transfer across. I have saved everything to the .set including the songbook - no luck. All my performances and all my style user banks ...

wow thank you for the explanations - the link to the PAx2 Piano alteration explains a lot - I read further down about the vibrato problem being in the sample - another thing I was hoping to fix up in the trumpet voices. I'll go and read the online manual, which may be the same one as on the disc ...

Are the Korg sounds made from samples?
I know how the sounds are made on my old M1 - and the sounds on my PA50 and new PA500 seem to be made the same way - by synthesis of waveforms rather than direct sampling of instruments. Is this correct? and if not, please would anyone enlighten me, I've read through the PA500 manual and can't find ...

Update - more good stuff
I've spent a few hours playing my PA500 since the last post. I've been running through all the STS's switching on the left hand voice and changing/adjusting where necessary, and I discovered that - WOW, the styles are incredible. I played for several years in local rock bands, I'm a keyboard teacher ...

Altered Fx in SOUND editor but it's not same in PERFORMANCE
I altered the 'Stereo Dist Gtr' sound to have delay vibrato and also increased the reverb, then renamed the sound 'The Lead' and saved it in a user bank. BUT when I replace 'Stereo Dist Gtr' with 'The Lead' in a performance (Carlo's Guitar) - it is a lot quieter. To check, I opened 'Stereo Dist Gtr ...

question is answered
Ta Da - I found the sound editing page - press shift and 'sound' from the mode menu - I've got my delay vibrato and it was LFO based as I expected. There's a manual on the disc all about editing - have not seen that written down anywhere, including on the disc. I would say I've read over 50% of the ...

PA500 some comments and a question
I've had the PA500 for 2 weeks now, I still have the PA50 and am transferring some of my user performance settings to the new PA500, the the 2 keyboards are sitting side by side, a great way to make comparisons. Interestingly, I can't tell the difference in sound quality between same name voices ...

Thanks Gino, I went right though the program edit menu and turned all intensitys and anything to do with pitch or delay to zero - and still the delay vibrato is there!!! I saved this change to a user bank and it's definitley lost some colour compared to the original - which is MONO TRUMPET - (PA50 ...

altering program sounds - how to add/remove delay vibrato
I programmed a lot of synths in the late 70's and early 80's - ending with the M1. Now I'm rusty, and technology has moved on - I have a PA50 and really want to adjust the delay vibrato on the trumpet - it's driving me crazy - I've read the manual and looked through the programming pages on the ...
