A make-or-break question to me.
For comparison:
Roland SP-404sx can´t import 24 bit WAV files.
Roland Fantom G can´t.
Roland FA-06 can.
Elektron Octatrack can.
Korg MicroSampler can´t (I´m guessing).
Akai MPC 4000 can.
Thanks.

Havent tried that, but for sure it can import 44-48khz.
Rs7000 doesnt load them and mc909, and mpc1000 dont do it too. _________________ Electribe 2 with E2S OS + KaossPad3 + Bass Station II + PO14Sub + Soundcraft Spirit Folio Lite + Alesis M1 Active Mk2

When my es2 has a smart media card in and I connect the usb to a computer it does not show up as a drive; does the card need to be formatted first? _________________ soundcloud.com/jknowsis

Usb is for midi only, not transferring. You will need to take the card out and put it in a card reader. |

From the E2S specs list at Korg(at)com:
Compare the above vague info to what Roland wrote about the sampler inside their FA-06/08 workstations:
Korg, we need similar details on what types of samples the ES2 can handle! Your accompanying documentation is utter rubbish (so far).
I want to purchase this Loopmaster pack...
It says 24 bit. Question to Mr. Pullen: Will it work inside the ES2? |

I'm using Goldbaby's 808 sample pack and it works fine. 24 bit wav.
Oddly, I had to convert the snare drums to 16bit, because I got an error message. All the others files work. |

Low bitrate files play fast for me. High bitrate ones play slow.
It's just ignoring the bitrate and chugging through the sample's bits at CD quality.
You can also bring in a long sample if you go low quality, like 11khz, you just need to trigger it at a lower note than the default trigger mode, or adjust the tune down at the edit. _________________ www.soundcloud.com/astrospy |

Despite my years and years of in-depth use of this machine, I had always assumed that only 16-bit samples can be used in the unit. I was pleasantly surprised earlier this evening to find out I can import 24-bit samples into the editor, then load into the unit. Everything was going as planned, except I got the freeze at 93% when doing Export All Samples. Argh.. So I reformatted the disk and loaded the samples again. Again, stuck at 93%. I removed the 24-bit samples, leaving only 16-bit and, presto.. Everything exported properly. _________________ Visit https://ghostwrittenclips.com for a FREE pack of robot-war/mech/cinematic fx samples. =) |
