Thank you, Eduardo. That's certainly a bunch of information on controllers - have to admit I've never heard of most of them, but certainly worth some investigation. Anything like that may have to wait, though, now that it seems a Pa4x is on the horizon. (Wondering how it's action will be.)

I'm currently still on my Pa1xPro, so I've waited a long time to upgrade - and it will be significant both in terms of technology and financial outlay.

Thanks again for your suggestions, all the best. Giner

The only fact so far is that the pa4x seems overdue...

Yes, and not really sure if "PA4X" is a fact at all.

BTW, there is a similar topic in progress in the "Latest News" forum:-

Now if there would be a PA3x replacement announced later this week, what would you expect to be the new features... ( expect, which does not mean hope for)

Personally i think it will be much along these lines..

- hardware upgrade comparable to Kronos hardware

- advancement of the PCM engine with features of the Kronos HD and SGX engines like string and damper pedal resonance for piano and offcourse diskstreaming of samples... Also might have some of the advanced features of kontakt, like advanced articulations and creating true ensembles ( like T5)

- new drums supporting high end VST drum features like we know from session drummer. With features like round robbing and such.

- new and improved effects section, and espescially more of them

- integration of encoders(knobs) both into the sound engine as well as the style engine..

- bigger touchscreen with a fresh new OS with a gui resembling current mobile OS like android and Ios.

- advancement of the style engine and midipads with new features making styles a bit more dynamic (which combined with the new drums will show the world that midi is much more capable for dynamic music then audio tracks)

- ipad integration, allowing you to use all those great Korg ipad apps (still running on ipad) in combination with your arranger. (Ipad integration seems more likely for an arranger then advanced PC integration)

- improved sequencer ( maybe 32 tracks, huge improvement because of better touchscreen gui, and maybe even an option like the gadget sequencer with clip launching build in)

I am pretty sure a few of these will make the upgraded Pa4x( if thats whats it calld) now i have moved away from pa3x some time ago, but i still think i can predict what direction Korg is going. One thing i know is that the instrument needs to step up to catch up with other top class contenders. So i think they will take the same step as the Kronos did, upgrading to todays hardware, which offers dozens of new possibillities.

What i dont expect to see is VST integration or improved DAW integration

So what are everyone elses expectations?

I'm not sure that I actually "expect" anything - meaning I have absolutely no idea really - I would definitely like a couple of things but then we are just back to wish-lists which is probably a bit too late if this thing is about to be announced.

Yes I would still like to get:-
A visual metronome (just flashing "start" LED would be fine
Decent tone wheel drawbar organ and Leslie emulation.
Bigger screen would be nice.
Oh!!! AND THE EDITOR - PLEASE!!!!

But the above would definitely NOT be a reason for me to buy it.

So if we do get a truly revolutionary arranger - new OS - new design etc…etc… then who knows, I could be tempted….
I really don't think that Korg have to come up to the level of current contenders - I only really know of one (T5) - the awesome "different" features and related superb technology in the T5 is really of very little use to me and still IMHO does not justify buying one - of the two, if I didn't have an arranger at all, I would unquestionably go for the Korg. So (just my opinion again) I actually think that Yamaha still have to come up to the Korg in many areas before I would consider it competitive - i.e. just generally made it more performance & recording friendly would be a great start.

Gonna lock this as we are getting too many PA4X topics all basically the same so please continue all your discussions in the other PA4X topic.

Thanks - no offence intended.
