Man, you're prolific!
I'm going to have to download these to take a look, as they are quite long and our broadband in this dark corner of Wales is not up to streaming
Thanks, as ever, for sharing. _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

This is just fantastic!
Your attention to detail on the choppy part is staggering! The finished results on both are amazing.
Thanks so much.
I have so many sounds I would love you to recreate but will try and reign myself in a bit! Your videos are really inspiring me to try and do more myself as well.
Best wishes

Thanks for all of these tutorials, very informative and a very good explanation on how to get started when you need a specific sound. _________________

Here's a question about something I'm unaware of the Kronos being able do or not: The background sound (the pulsing sound) was played by holding the chord down, and the hi-hat from the LinnDrum was sent to a CV out, and connected to the Arp Quadra's CV in. That way the tempo was locked to the Linndrum's tempo, and didn't require the Tony to physically play the ostinato.
Is it possible to do that in the Kronos without using a sequencer to pulse the chord? Let something like the tempo of a part control another part?
Thanks,

Hey enigmahack!
You did a very nice job on these tough sounds. I'm very impressed, how close you came to the intro lead sound. To me, it just needs some heavy delay/reverb and maybe a bit of chorus to be perfect.
To me, the choppy sound is still a bit to harsh on the top end. What about some cutoff/resonance tweaking and room reverb/early reflection? The original sound always reminds me of Korg's old "Hard Tine" E-Piano sounds of the 01W series. Maybe there's a HD-1 waveform of it in the Kronos which could bring in some cooler, digital touch. Couldn't we use a Karma pattern for the 16th repetitions?
Thank you for your great work so far! |

Thanks so much for the feedback!
I agree with the higher end cutoff for the choppy sound; The quality of the recording I had wasn't the best and I need to keep reminding myself of that. Sometimes I make the sound too much like the recording and not enough like what it would have sounded like being recorded.
As far as Karma - Definitely could yeah. That's super easy on that one, but I watched it being played and saw the notes were actually well... played. That said, adding Karma to it as a repeating pattern would be very easy. I just didn't even think about doing it _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S
