I got one about a month ago on the advice of someone in the forums. You won't regret it. It's awesome. |

For me the advantage is bieng able to trigger the karma pad's, so i wont have to use the touchscreen.
Sometime's i might want to trigger those pad's fast, and im afraid if i do that
on the touchscreen i would have to use more pressure, and that might damage the screen.
Plus i prefer the tactile feel of real pad's.
Also i can use nanopad2 to trigger drum's, among other thing's.
Dont know yet what the nanopad2 x y control's will do.
Something cool i would guess. |

****Need to clarify this>>>As a former M3 owner (still pissed I sold it) the pads were awesome to have. I'm sad I didn't keep both keyboards...but I love my Kronos!
And as stated it's a lot easier to use them from the nanoPad2 than to use them on the Kronos. I don't like using the screen either.
Not to mention the X/Y capability etc. Do a search...it's not that hard
and I think you'll find you will be intrigued.

Sadly, IMHO, the M3 pads were 1000% better than the NanoPad 2 - if you use the NanoPad a lot you'll get frustrated with the "hardness" of the pads sensitivity - some achy finger joints (but maybe that's just me ).
I now use key assignments (low) to activate the pads (using a larger MIDI controller makes this very useable feature).
Now the new OS has SETLIST transpose options - this doesn't interfere with the pad-to-key assignments.
Good one Korg - forever looking after us.
(Wish I'd at least kept my M3….. BUT love love love my Kronos)

I LOVE my nanopad2. 16 pads. For live I assign the bottom 8 to percussion and the top 8 to chords.
What's also nice is if I have small parts that only happen a couple times in a song often I can use the pads and keep my keyboard real estate not dedicating a split to it.
I can even use the pads to play additional parts (2 with one hand) allowing me to keep my show 100% live that would be humanly impossible otherwise! _________________ Korg: KRONOS 73, M50-61, 01W/r

I love my nanoPAD 2 for the Kronos. I use the top 8 pads for chords and the bottom 8 pads I use for functions. I've been meaning to create a video on it because you can do some REALLY cool stuff with it that I haven't seen anywhere else.
Korg's adding of nano support was HUGE. _________________ Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha). |

Funny, I just bought one yesterday. Plan is to have the singer of my band use it to access the Karma pads when I'll play a guitar solo. I have not thought of a way of using the other 8 pads or the x y pad yet. _________________ Guitarist at Epic Mind (www.epicmind.nl) - also do keyboards for it (Korg Kronos 88 owner). |

I also have the Nanopad 2 - Bought it for the pads, kept it for the X-Y pad!
(They control volume vibrato and filter vibrato by default I believe) _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

I've been using MidiPads, an Ipad app which works wonders with the Kronos, only cost u$s 5 and I can have a multiplicity of different functions assigned. haven't used it live yet, though
just my 2 cents _________________ Fernando
