Hi all,

Just a few days back I picked up an MS-20 as my first proper analog synthesiser and am having a blast with it. It was recommended to me as one of the best modern intuitive/educational synths out there and I have to agree (even if the dual amp/filter ADSR envelope did perplex me a bit at first!) - it's a joy to program and experiment with.

However, tonight I stumbled upon something which may or may not be a problem. I was watching Marc Doty/Automatic Gainsay's series on the MS-20 Mini, specifically his video on the Sample and Hold function, and I've noticed that, when I replicate his exact settings (when he directs the sample and hold to a) the oscillators at 4:05 and b) the low pass filter at 5:27), I have to then turn my MG/T.EXT dials up to 10 to get the same effect he does at 4-5. The 'burbley' effect of the low pass filter S&H in particular is very, very subtle and barely audible until I push the knob past 7-8.

Looking at the top comment of said YouTube video, another MS-20 Mini user has also stated he has encountered a similar thing. As a result, I was just wondering whether this is definitely a (common?) problem with the model, or the result of some revision Korg have done recently?

Of course, nothing could be wrong and my lack of synthesis knowledge could be shining through. I'm 100% certain I copied his settings and patches, though...

Thanks for any advice you can give me - much appreciated!

rjph91, Ill be taking delivery of my Ms-20 tomorrow. Wanted to thank you for making me feel normal from pouring over youtube videos learning about this synth. Good to see others doing the same thing I am.

Cant wait till tomorrow. Then I get to dig out these videos and go step by stem though the ms-20.

I have the same issue. It is the signal S/H has little force. Amp connect it to the ESP and noticed that improves.
