|
|
I sometimes post a quick reply, and carelessly click Submit without previewing or fully reviewing my post. I then see a typo, make a quick edit, and submit it.
The board then responds with something like: "You cannot post again so soon after your last post". Hmm - I was editing an existing post.
I'm not sure if the software can be adjusted to distinguish between a new post and an edit, but that would be nice if possible. |

That would indeed be a nice addition.
Also, I think it would be nice to have a difference between new members and (long) established members who can be trusted. E.g. for PCG Tools, sometimes when a new release is published, I want to put a message in all model threads it supports (because not all people will read all models), and it takes me about 20 minutes or so to post in 10-15 threads. _________________

Hi guys.
Not with this version of phpBB. The current setting is at 40 seconds between posts/edits/searches, and it can't distinguish between them. It's one setting for everything.
When we move to phpBBv3 there will be no timer for anyone over newbie member status. So you will be able to post as quick and edit as quick as you like when we switch over.
So sorry, it's a necessary evil at the moment to control spammers.
Regards

Thanks for the explanation ... btw, I think controlling spammers is much more important than the occasional multi-posting or editing posts. _________________
