|
|
Hi everyone. I am a complete mixidiot. I like to create instrumental pieces, some heavy, some not so much. I use Sony Acid Pro. This piece I wrote last night with some basic leveling and a master fade out at the end. I have a few guitar tracks happening as well as a hi hat track, a track of ocean surf sounds, and two tracks from my Kronos. Overall things begin to sound convoluted and muddy to my ears after a while. Can any experts or those of you with more mixing experience offer any insight as to how I can better approach the whole concept of mixing tracks to get more sonic separation and audibility overall?
Thank you in advance. I really do want to improve. Here's the track

Hi Kevin,
It sounds not so bad .
The beginning sounds good but at the end there is to much going on
with lead guitars and distortion etc.
Example:
Start with the bass and drums (L/R)and the lead/ vocal (mid)and the build the rest of tracks around these things.
make sure there is enough headroom for the bass and base-drum.
everything well panned and volume level to a good mixing level and not to much DSP on all tracks .
When there is to much going on at the time it will sound to muddy.
good luck
