Well did I choose the right set of keys or what!
As any fans will know, Pink Floyd used LOADS of keyboards/hammond/piano/analogue in there music. After a lot of research, I bought a Kronos as it seemed to be the most flexible at doing all of the above.
Well I'm certainly glad I did. It's been a steep learning curve, fumbling with the multiple engines, but the results....wow. The combi in the video below took me many hours of tweaking, but the end result worked really well and sounded great live.
Here it is, the Kronos trying it's best to do Pink Floyd justice!
All live, no playback or backing tracks.

The Kronos was just perfect for this gig. Everything that was asked of it, piano, Rhodes, Hammond, Moog, strings, it absolutely delivered the goods.
Another example...
We've just started adding a new track to the setlist, "One of these days". There is a keyboard sound that is really quite unique, kinda Hammond/Rhodes sounding, with some interesting effects. Within a couple of hours, I've managed to replicate it pretty well.

Very well done cover above!
The keys could be slightly louder in the mix IMHO, but that always happens to keyboarders. The "one of these days" sound is already pretty close (perhaps some EQing to make it slightly warmer).
I had the fun of playing "Echoes" at my last birthday with some friends, and had the same great Kronos experience, helping me to nail even the ping and the Leslie grand piano sound with it, not speaking of the great new CX3-engine covering both the smooth verse parts and the famous funky percussive middle riff. _________________ Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5 |

Hmm, there's a few Floyd heads around here!
When I last went out with the Floyd, I used My Yamaha EX5 for Rhodes, Piano and some synth, Novation Remote61 for second tier keyboard, my beloved Nord G2 engine for the majority of the synth leads and effects sounds, a Motif Rack ES for pads, strings and a few organ sounds, a PC running Cantabile which was hosting samples and Native Instruments B4II. Oh, and a Roland FC300 MIDI foot controller for pedals (volumes, Leslie switching) and patch switching whilst keeping two hands on the keyboard.
So, I am hoping to migrate all of the rack and PC stuff over to the Kronos, which will become the second tier board. I'm hoping that the FC300, EX5 and Kronos will do the job. First step will be to replace all the organ and samples and the Remote61, I'll worry about the rack units later.
We did learn Echoes in the last incarnation of the band, but never gigged it. I hope to get that one back on the menu this one around, and some tracks from "The Endless River" would be good jamming material. _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

Very nice indeed. I listened to a few of the other tracks as well.
The singer did a admirable job on Great Gig. That's hard to do!
I too am curious what the second keyboard player was using.
Thanks for posting. Makes me want to go find a tribute band! _________________ Korg Kronos 88 ::: Korg M3-73 ::: Yamaha MOXF6 ::: MacBook Pro w/ Cubase 7.5, Logic X & Mainstage + way too many VSTs
