|
|
So one thing I've been noticing in recent weeks and is kind abugging me is that for some reasowhen I have VCO 1 set to triangle, it seems noticably quieter than VCO 2 in say ring mod for instance.
If I switch VCO 1 to square for instance, the two VCOs seem about the same.
Is this a normal characteristic of a triangle wave that it wouldn't have as much cut through or volume as another waveform, or could this be some sort of issue with my synth? |

I believe this is normal and is due the harmonic content of the wave. If you pick the square or sawtooth and apply the LPF you can approximate the triangle wave and you'll notice its about the same volume, too. |

Cheers, I thought it might be something like that, but I wasn't really sure.
It probably doesn't help that I'm mainly playing bass stuff on my synth at the moment so it's right down the bottom end where I'm noticing it the most... |
