hello & welcome
I am trying to get an idea what you want ...
you want to have a conga with a cabasa sound added to the rim ?
am I right ?
and whats that with the mambo bell , at the same time ?
have you found presets that come (partially)close to your needs and you would like to combine ? |

Well in a perfect world I would have 2 conga head sounds (1low and 1high with no shakers or additions), the mambo bell sounds on rim and cascara on emblem where it says "global" ..... If you can help that would be amazing.... If not right now I want good conga sound to play the tumbao |

you would have 2 Wavedrums for the 2 most realistic congas.
only you know , how much you find the conga presets "realistic" , playable , expressive enough . (Presets No 19 , 161-163)
they are "double size algorithm" presets and you can not add anything to them ...(edit1 = tune , dec , edit2 = balance between Algo and PCMs)
how much are you into editing ? these presets are a good and easy start.

(April , 20th 2012)
--> check out your favourite PCMs
if you want to program a sound with a rim bell PCM (eg No22)
or low conga PCM for the rim No 25-28 yes , but not both at the same time
(also check the velocity curve of the PCMs !)
you only can use a single-size Algo for the head in combi with a PCM.(No 42-49)
(and later another one for the rim)
the single-size Algo (No19)is maybe not so close to a conga as you want , maybe more like a "wooddrum" or some WD specific sound .
sorry , there is no Algorithm that really sounds like a bell or conga or even only like a wooddrum , when assigned to the rim.
(the head "boom" is not crosstalking , only rim signals "clack" are available . they cannot trigger a low drumskinsound)
read the editing thread April , 25th
you see , many restrictions and honestly this is a Wavedrum and will never be a real Conga .
the WD has much of an own style (Algorithms) and is not so good in mimicking original instruments with PCMs

a good idea this :
microfone---> preamp(converter adapter) --->WD AUX In |
