I did download it but I haven't attempted a MIDI export yet. Did you ever decide to get it?

I'd love to get this but unf don't have a 3ds...as soon as I can "borrow" my brother's or get one second hand this will probably be the first (and only) thing I'll get for it. If its anything like the DS10 then its going to be fantastic...

It's fancy stuff. Since it's a sampler workstation it doesn't have the sound design depth of the DS-10, only being able to set attack and release times per timbre. Where it excels is in creating multilayers and beats. It has all the same scales as the 10 (minus Raga3 for some reason). And the KAOSS pad has a chorder function. Post your impressions if/when you get it!

I love M01D - great workflow for the most part. However it's quite different compared to DS-10 Plus.

M01D has 8 sequencer tracks. Each track can have up to 99 sequences. Each sequence can have 16-64 steps. There is no pitch bend, from what I can determine. I wanted to add a bluesy pitch bend for my sax track but couldn't figure it out. I think you can only control volume and gate - no notion of ASDR envelopes, or modulation - heck, you don't even get an LFO.

DS-10 Plus has all the patching and knob control you'd expect from a virtual analog. However, it seems you have to trigger the patterns manually - you cannot chain them into a song and just hit play and listen to your song like on M01D. No MIDI export as far as I can tell.

My take is M01D is really great for putting together a full song quickly, when you don't want to get too deeply into the weeds as far as sound design. The most impressive demo track that comes with M01D, imo, is the one by the Chrono Trigger composer - it's got dramatic tempo changes and time signature changes up the wazoo like you would expect from a professionally arranged orchestral piece.
