I finally player (briefly) the Kross 88 yesterday, liked it through mono amp, need to spend more time with it. In the past played an M50 61, didnt love it- mostly hated the keybed.
So, same price to buy mint used M50 88 or New Kross 88. I am having a tough time making decision. My profile:
- church musician
- more interested in strong A. and E. pianos, pads.
- like ARPS and rythym tracks for home jamming
- no interest in sequencing, sampling, recording digital audio.
- Like ability to download/purchase new patches
Opinions? _________________ Korg M50

Just listening to your preferences, sounds like you'd like the Kross better. But the M does have those 8 sliders, which I miss on the Kross. It would be nice to have more live sound sculpting controls, like the M, or even the Korg PA1x intelligent arranger top of the liner from a few years back. They're great for doing drawbar organ tweaks, and tone mixing in combi's and even filter tweaking. You don't need the sequencer though, and the nice Kross88 keybed sounds like it would also please you. Go for the Kross!! The EP's and AP's play and sound better on one when triggered by an 88 note weighted keyboard, even over MIDI, so it should be an inspired and inspiring playing experience. |
