Gigged at a downtown club tonight. Got there by subway (underground, metro) with the Kross in a Nord case (with the word Nord hidden by a sticker and tape) on my back. An easy, though long, commute! The backstraps work great.
I had a Fender Twin (2x12" speakers) to use, and I used these settings:
Bright Switch = Off
Volume = 4, then 6
Treble = 1.5
Middle = 4
Bass = 2.5.

It sounded awesome, especially wurlitzer ep's, the organ Patches and Combi's and the Brass. The Piano's were Ok, especially one I edited to be brighter&louder, with shorter decay, and U-vibe effect available on the Mod Wheel.

TONIGHT, I took the Kross (by itself, no SK-1) to a small gig, and found that as long as I turned the amps way up (Roland KC-110 and SA-300, with L. output in one, and R. output in the other) - then the best organs were Korg's stock ones: in particular
000 Jazz Perc. Organ - for Allman Brothers' Jessica -with MW adding edge
015 Warm Gospel Organ - for Hendrix/Winwood Voodoo Chile (long version)
014 Jazz Organ Tremolo - for some R&B stuff.

I also think
007 - the patch called 800000048 - might have worked perfectly for Al Green tunes, if I hadn't turned all the Treble off on the amp early in the night...and forgotten to turn it back on! (until later.)

Org Combi's 005 Brit Rock Groove and 007 Blues Rock Organ also sounded good (with the Arps and Drum Patterns turned off, of course - there was a real drummer playing, and he wasn't monitoring my send.)

The Kross Piano on Roll Over Beethhoven got me comparisons to NRBQ's Terry Adams, so I guess that's a ringing endorsement too.

The brass sound that worked best tonight was Section Brass. Fuller than Tight Brass, but still bright and responsive enough.

_just a reminder - tonight's gig didn't have monitors, so that may be a factor in which sounds worked the best - they were just going thru my amp(s).._
