I just purchased an SP 280 and am using it for score creation in Finale. If I understand correctly, the only channel change I can make on the SP 280 is the transmit channel. I've played around with sending multiple instrument lines to the keyboard, and it looks like the Finale channel designation doesn't matter as long as I select a matching General MIDI instrument from the assignment list.

Does the SP 280 just recognize the General MIDI instrument? Do I even need to assign channels for playback in Finale?

Another question I have is whether I can access the SP 280 metronome via MIDI from Finale. I'd like to control the metronome with the Click and Countdown settings in Finale. Currently, the click and countdown just goes to the piano sound. How can I access the metronome or set the click to a particular sound? So far, no change I make in Finale makes any difference.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Jim
