Hi Everyone,

I have just launched the standalone version of the Fractal Sequencer. It composes music and draws incredable images of fractals. See my website for details.

Cheers

Hi everyone,

I have updated the sequencer which is now on version 1.81. PDF Documentation and demo on my website.

Fractals are infinitely complex objects created by simple equations. The equations contain complex numbers – both real and imaginary. Fractals contain no straight edges or curves which can be differentiated. They have the property of self similarity. That is similar patterns occur at different scales. If you zoom into a fractal set you will never reach an end. Detail continues forever. Our limitation in creating them is the finite precision of variables held in a computer’s memory.

In the natural world there are fractal like objects like fern leaves, branching trees, snowflakes. But you cannot zoom in forever as you will reach the atomic and quantum world. At the plank length – length has no meaning.

This software enables you to explore the world of Fractals both as images and as musical sequences. The latter can drive via Midi both virtual synths VST’s such as korgs legacy collections and real midi instruments such as Korgs current range of synths and pianos.

Hope you find the software of interest.

Cheers

Stuart
