Hi all

Just bought a used i2 workstation, it came with nothing but the board and a power cord. So I downloaded the Players Guide and bought some Korg 3.5 floppy disks for the i series and it says to load all data but everytime I try that it says ERROR can't load to protected RAM and nowhere in the players guide does it say anything about how to unprotect the ram. But it does say for more detailed globel instructions consult the Reference Guide, which I don't have and can't find anywhere on the internet.

Any ideas ? Because I am lost and the only thing I can think of is maybe the battery is dead ?

My Korg i1 Reference Guide says that these protection settings are found by pressing:
Global
Page+
At the bottom of the screen there are three Protect settings:
Program, Arrangement, and Style.
Set all these to OFF or the corresponding setting to OFF and loading should be possible.
I believe that this is identical in i2 as in my i1.

I have the i2/i3 Players Guide as pdf and it seems odd that the Global settings are not explained at all in there. They are explained in the Reference Guide only.

Thank you for your reply, it is the same for i1 & i2. But my probelm was the battery was dead and without battery power nothing could load into memory.

After checking the globel protect settings as you said, I found them all off and just took a shot in the dark and replaced the battery and everything will load now correctly.
