Complete noob question.

Post by Smithotron »

Hi, I've recently bought a Korg M1, and have experimented with changing sounds, and loading new sounds etc. I really don't have time to figure this all out properly so I decided it might be better for me to go the software route. I was wondering if anyone could recomend a software package for idiots like me for playing sounds through my computer. I don't need to record on a sequencer, I just need a simple program that I can select from many different sounds and play them through the output of my pc. The simpler the better. Any help would be appreciated.

If you like the M1, you can always get the virtual M1, which has all presets and sounds from all cards ever made (minus custom cards). Very easy to use.

Aside from that, pretty much every instrument you find that does what you want will also have in-depth controls. It's hard to find something that's just presets. The best route would be to get a midi-usb converter, some sort of librarian software for the M1, and go through sounds on that while playing your M1. I'm sure others will have ideas too.
