The MS can use up to 5 insert effects. Does this mean 5 per timbre, or 5 for the entire song. I hope it means per timbre.

And If you use up your quota of effects does the MS let you know with an error message or does the effect just not work?

Also, all of the effects have a dry/wet setting. Why one choose an effect and then turn on the dry setting negating the effect?

I'm new to synths, so I'm sorry if these are dumb questions.

Thanks!

Hello.

Unfortunately, 5 insert effects are for the whole number of 16 MIDI channels. It will cost a lot to have big number of effects. For that, look at Virus synthesizers. So, it's 5 insert effects for entire setup made of 16 instruments - or entire song as you practically described it.

No error message. Just a definitive number, and than it's the end - you wont have effects on our disposal.

Dry/wet setting is given for a choice, because, if you need some special effect for one sound (let's say "Leslie effect" simulating Lessie cabinet for electric organ), it can badly damage the sound of another sound and make it not sound natural.

Thanks for your reply Stargazer, very helpful info. On checking out other synth specs, the MS is pretty on par with the rest.
