Hey everyone, what's up?

I've been playing around all day, I'm definitely gonna like the Krome 61, I am glad I still have the TR, together they should do anything I'll need.

Looking forward to more discussion.

Regards,

First, I don't sample, even though I intended to at some point, and bought the EXB Sample option for my TR, so the fact that the Krome doesn't have that option isn't an issue for me.

The Pianos are just flat out sweet, actually blew me away, there are loads of awesome sounding EPs, Synths, Organs, etc, and the editing possibilities are endless, which really appeals to me, especially having 16 voices, and 4 insert effects, to work with, as opposed to 8, and 2, on the TR.

It's much lighter that the TR, and the big touch screen is a flat out blessing.
The keys feel fine, I'm not a pianist, just a guitar player who dabbles with keyboards, so I'm not picky there, and the feel is as good as the TR.

I can't think of much else right now, but I plan to spend more time with it today, and I'm happy to try and answer any specific questions.

Regards,

Why not try one for yourself since you seem so interested in the Krome? Only you can judge the keyboard feel.

That was my bad, there actually 6 insert effects, not to mention 1 total effect, and 2 master effects, with 193 choices, of decent sounding effects.

The keybed is a bit different than my TR, which I actually prefer, the Krome keys are springier and have more resistance, like some of the console organs I've played.

Synths? with the nice sounding synth voices, and the superb editing/ combi creation ability, I'm excited about the Synths, can't compare, I've never owned an M50.

I hope this is helpful.

Regards,

Thom,

Actually, one of the knocks against the M50 was that the keybed felt like a toy. So, if the Krome's KB action is closer to the TR's, then the consensus would probably be that it's a step up from the M50.

You say that you're not going to be in a position to buy for a couple of months. That'll be plenty of time to see some useful user feedback.

Stephen, I know you might be very excited about your new Krome and all, and that you don't care for sampling, but do you think there might be a chance to test the sampling playback like in Korgman's video? It really is a decision making issue for many of us.

Whenever you can Wink

Sorry to differ with you again, but there are 5 insert effects,2 master and 1 total effect

And it looks like you are correct, I looked in the Quick Start Guide for the info, and got this on page 4;

• You can use up to 16 of these effects
simultaneously, with 6 Insert Effects, 2 Master
Effects (for reverb sends, for instance), and 1 Total
Effects (for stereo bus processing).

Not sure I understand this, what do you mean by "sampling playback"?

Having spent more time playing the Krome, I have no issue with the keys at all.

I think he wants you to test this:

Hello folks,

Unfortunately there is an error on page 4 of the Quick Start Guide. The correct spec is on page 18.

Krome has five IFX, two stereo MFX, and one stereo TFX- eight simultaneous effects in total.

I'm sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,
-Rich

Yeah...that feature does not exist in the documentation, but somebody should try the process to see if the presence of the META and SAMPLE files on the SD card causes the oscillator menu to show those samples as an option. Smile
