|
|
Hello, I am having problems trying to import some of my patches from my microkorg Xl into Mainstage 2. I basically want to have the patches in Mainstage so that I can use them more simply. Is there any way to do this? |

As far as I'm aware, there is no Microkorg XL audio unit for Mainstage, so you would have to literally replicate the patch:
pen & paper.
Then put it into something like ES2 and emulate the settings.
But that would render your MicroKorg surplus to requirements, as all the generation would be from Mainstage 2. (you could use the Microkorg as a keyboard controller though - all the knobs are mappable to the the settings in Mainstage)
Personally, I gave up using Mainstage as is proved too unreliable when I played live (it consistently crashed/froze during performances - not good) - Apple are aware of the issue (it's quite well-documented) but have done nothing about it.
FWIW, if you want reliability, either (a) stick to the Microkorg, or (b) go back to Mainstage 1. _________________ Yamaha SY77 & KX88, SSL Nucleus, Korg Kronos 61, Wavestation A/D, Access Virus B, Roland XP30, DeepMind12D, System 1m, V-Synth XT, Focusrite Red16Line, Unitor 8, Akai S3000 XL, Alesis Quadraverb+, Focal Shape Twins, Full fat iMac, Logic Pro X, ProTools 2021, loadsa plugins.

Have you tried the latest release of Mainstage? I find it really stable and reliable for on-the-fly tweaking and live performance. I haven't tried to transfer the patches though. _________________ Sina @ http://www.sound4sina.com/blog - Since 2003 |
