|

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a microstation to use live. I'm a guitarist/vocalist that relies heavily on live loops, (no pre-records).
That being said, I wanted to get the microstation because of it loops.
When I go to record something (and loop it) on the fly, I can't seem to get the metronome default settings to change, which is preventing me from using it live.
Anyone know how to adjust the 'auto song' settings to mute the metronome / cancel the count-in?
Please and thanks! _________________ www.jeanpaulderoover.com

From what I understand, there's no way to adjust the "Auto Song" settings when you press record in Prog or Combi Mode. This is something you could set up in advance though. Just create a series of new songs in Seq Mode, turn down the metronome volume for all of them, then set up all the sounds you want to use for each song, but don't actually record anything. Give them all a name for reference, then when you go into Global Mode and choose to save songs, it will save the entire batch of these which you can load later. _________________ Roland Juno-60, SH-101, TR-606, MC-505, Casio CZ-101, Yamaha DX100, DX11, Kawai R-50e // Korg R3, microSTATION, Monotribe, MS-20 Mini, SQ-1, minilogue, electribe sampler, Volca series: Bass, Keys, Beats, Sample, FM, Kick, Moog Theremin |

Thanks Re-Member.
I tried all that out:
- Created a template for a new song titled 'Standard' using my desired programs
- Set it to be the default 'song' when I first press Sequence
- Turned the metronome to 'off' and the volume to 0
Yet for some reason, once I power the synth off and on again, those metronome settings don't stick.
Any other suggestions? _________________ www.jeanpaulderoover.com

It works for me. Are you actually saving the SEQ file to the memory card and then reloading it when you power on the machine? The recording settings for the metronome don't get saved with in a template, but they do get saved within a song saved to a SEQ file. SEQ files are only saved via the memory card. _________________ Roland Juno-60, SH-101, TR-606, MC-505, Casio CZ-101, Yamaha DX100, DX11, Kawai R-50e // Korg R3, microSTATION, Monotribe, MS-20 Mini, SQ-1, minilogue, electribe sampler, Volca series: Bass, Keys, Beats, Sample, FM, Kick, Moog Theremin |

Finally! Got it working.
Sorry, this is my first synth purchase, so it took me a while to figure out the menus etc.
Thanks for the help, Re-Member!

On a side note - when I'm playing back a recorded loop (let's say a 1 bar phrase), and one note (on a program with a long decay) is being held from 1:1 to 1:4, it always retriggers and truncates the held note upon cycling back, including cutting off the decay. Thoughts?
is there a possible way to make the loop _________________ www.jeanpaulderoover.com

The problem with looping a sequencer is that it will always retrigger the note since it's repeating a cycle, rather than sustain it. One trick to get a steady note going would be increasing the amp attack and release so that the note fades in just as it's fading out. As for the decay/release getting abruptly cut off, it could be that the sound patch is set to be monophonic. Check that and switch it to polyphonic if it is. _________________ Roland Juno-60, SH-101, TR-606, MC-505, Casio CZ-101, Yamaha DX100, DX11, Kawai R-50e // Korg R3, microSTATION, Monotribe, MS-20 Mini, SQ-1, minilogue, electribe sampler, Volca series: Bass, Keys, Beats, Sample, FM, Kick, Moog Theremin |
