Will there ever be added DNC support to the KRONOS sound engines...

DNC would be one of the features that could add even more depth to the KRONOS, even fill the weak part concerning Accoustic instrument emultaions on the KRONOS.

Whats so hard about adding an inhouse technollogy to the flagship that would make the flagship even better.

Korg have this technology in the newest PA arrangers. Why can't they include this in the top of the line Kronos workstation.

Oh of course, Kronos owners don't want the same acoustic 'realism' as PA series owners! What a load of hog wash.

It's hilarious that a 2003 Yamaha Motif ES with 175MB waveform ROM can have way superior sounding 'mega voiced' programs than the 2011 Kronos with it's massive 12GB sound library! Something simply doesn't ad up here.

If you've not used up all the MS slots on an HD oscillator, you can map fret slides and finger noises etc. to the bottom two or three notes of your keyboard, and use them for extra realism.

OK, I'll admit it may not be perfect in a live situation unless you're Zaphod Beeblebrox, but it's handy (no pun intended) to have when recording. Smile

EDIT... Almost forgot - If you buy the Karma Editor, you can always create your own arpeggios etc to include the slides, noises etc. so there is a way round it if you're desperate for extra articulation.

Yes, I do believe a certain amount of articulation emulation/scripting could be achieved using KARMA.

I think there are already some examples of this in the factory programs.

Because the synthesis structure is different. HD-1 still has two oscillators per part. PA-series arrangers have many more oscillators (16, 20...?). It's a fundamental change in design, and I don't think translation from PA-series to Kronos is possible to happen for Kronos. Perhaps for some other future Korg flagship that won't necessarily be tied to OASYS legacy code as much as Kronos is.

Meh, I'd challenge that. I've heard the Motif ES and it doesn't sound that great. The exception might be a few guitars and some orchestral sounds here and there with the Motif, but how many people play guitar sounds with a keyboard?

Cool
