Here's a short that I directed, shot, and scored. Wall to wall score.

For Prog Rock peeps. Logic is doing the drums, bass, guitar and violin. Friend on Vox. Everything else is Kronos. Enjoy.

Prog rock lives. Synth solo lines!
Nice piece, lots of parts that flow.
Amazing drum programming.

Great emotional direction too, fits the title.
Triumph-like vocals, I hear Magic Power...

Hi, Pete. Thanks for commenting! Here, this will help you sleep better. I've been scoring these funny commercials for lawyer, Anthony Paglia.

Really appreciate you saying so, KingKronos!

That short, a couple posts up, was practice for the feature version. Here's the trailer:

Looks good, Mike.
Outdoor horror themes are in your wheelhouse, eh?
You're in Colorado, right?

Just watched Dudes and Dragons (comedy fantasy).
It's a free youtube movie filmed in Utah.
Seems Utah has lots of indie movie-making.
At least for LOTR / dragon fantasy movies.
The 5 movie series Mythica was made there.
Probably for the diverse scenery, mountains.
Kind of like our little New Zealand.

That's a good song. Reminds me of Yes. What if you started the track at 0:52? That would be a great initial riff.

Actually, I'm in Las Vegas. This is my first horror feature, though I've done some horror shorts, and am about to shoot an outdoor bigfoot movie. I've scored music for other horror filmmakers, such as this:

Wow, New Zealand must be wonderful, and no snakes! Utah is next to Nevada. Years ago, I shot this sci-fi movie up there, in a volcanic region. I liked doing the music for this, too. Pre-Kronos, so all OASYS and Virus:

Nice, I imagine you've got quite a repertoire now.

What inspires your choice of music for a scene?
I'm not a movie buff, but is John Carpenter an influence?

Or is it all feel and instinct?
I used to write with this one Jim Morrison type artist.
He'd describe moods and scenes to me.
Then I'd come up with the music to match.

But that was the exception, not the rule.
I mostly rely on theory and my rock band history.
I suppose you also rely on what you grew up with...
