Hello,

Not doing this one as a poll, as I don't see how that would work. However, there have been some interesting responses to the "First Synth" poll.
I thought it would be interesting to hear from people what synth they'd never part with.

I'll start it off.

WILL NEVER SELL:
For me, I think I'll always keep a DX7 (currently have 7 in various condition), an M1 and a D-50. Everything else I own is potential Ebay-fodder, depending on what I want to get next.
Purely for nostalgia, I've just re-purchased my first ever synth, a Casio CZ230s - so I guess that's a keeper, for a while.

REGRET SELLING:

The TB303. I parted with it, and got a good price, to fund my simultaneous M3 / Motif purchase 3 years ago. I figured that one day, it'd fail anyway so may as well make some serious ca$h from it whilst I still could. I owned it for about 15 years prior to that (it's the actual whole one you see on Wikipedia's TB303 page).

Would never sell:
Roland AX-1... not really a synth but a controller, strap it around your neck, guitar style.

Would never sell:
Casio Privia PX-330... excellent, light weight (26 lbs) 88-key synth for portability.

Would never sell:
Kronos!!

Will most likely sell:
I thought I'd never sell the Triton Pro/X, but now that I have the Kronos, I just don't see keeping the Triton (had it since 2000).

Regret selling:
Kind of regret selling the Yamaha P120... horrible patches, but the best keyboard action I've played with...

Will probably never sell any of my synths again, perhaps the P80 piano, now that I have the K88.
Definitely regret selling my Pro-One, which was my first synth back in the day when it came out. Still shedding tears for selling my My TR-606 and TB-303 combo in the late 80s Sad

I'll never part with my Roland D-20. It's the first synthesizer I started to do music with. I regret parting with my Yamaha P-120 though. It had a wonderful action and I liked the piano sound as well. Plus the quite decent Harpsichord-sound (never heard a better one, not even in the Kronos).

My Korg X5, I know it's not very good sounding, but it just gives any money so it's a nice 'spare' keyboard.

I don't use it as synth but for sheer power as controller keyboard my Roland A90. Best controller keyboard ever!

Wouldn't sell: Kronos, though I can imagine the same type of difficult decision that current Oasys owners have when Korg releases the next thing in a few years.

Regret selling: Trinity V3. The various Tritons never had the same mojo for me, but the Kronos has brought back that magic and then some!
