|
|
Today is the day we were absoulutely positively promised that the Kronos 73's would ship from Guitar Center for pre orders. I just talked to my sales guy and he says they are getting none in and do not expect any until September.
I'm not going to go crazy here and rant like a mad man. Which is what I really want to do. I'll just say GC has lost at least one decades long customer for life. I also urge anyone else considering purchasing anything from this pathetic company to run, not walk to any other music store. They could not possibly do worse.
Does anyone know for sure, of anywhere one might get a Kronos 73? And if not, make a suggestion of a reliable store to order from? At least one that will not blatantly lie to their customers? Or is that just to much to ask. |

Sorry to hear that. They have been great with me. I found it useful to deal directly with the manager of pro audio. He seems to be able to get priority on orders. I have bought many items from them over the years so I get good pricing and have usually received items before expected. _________________ Shigeru Kawai SK5

Has become ? I gave up shopping/buying from them 10 years ago.
To be fair, the 73 shortage is more likely about korg than Gc.
I am still waiting for my 88 preorder and it's 100% korg. I am not griping, I just accept it. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I usually shopped at Guitar Center but only if I wanted a good price on something I knew about.
I go in there knowing more about a brand new product than most of their "specialists". And their keyboard guys are usually clueless.
Once I found a local store (would rather support a local business anyway) that could beat their prices, there was no question I would not go back.
With that being said - they were stupid to promise anything, cause they didn't know for sure.
I can tell you that the store I got it from pre-ordered the Kronos in March, and I just got mine last week. (73-key). So if you ordered after that, you will likely have to wait for the next big shipment, which I have heard is mid to end of september. |

Thanks Bruce, I'll give them a call.
Greg,
It's not like that this time. I was told that without question that these would ship on 8-15. And I was told that by the corporate office. This is the second time I've been lied to and it's just bad business. These people have become liars plain and simple. It didn't used to be that way.

Failure to ship to retailers is KORG's FAULT
Feeling sorry for those little shops out there Guitar Centre, Thomann, Digital Village etc. getting the stick for refusing to give you your pre-ordered Kroni - Which KORG haven't delivered yet!!
Still waiting - still hoping to be blown away - but this is getting beyond a joke.. |

I got my Kronos from Musician's Friend, Sweetwater tend to be a great mail order place.
I agree, GC sucks, I sent an email about the poor customer service at my Local Store.
I got an appology, but still I've vowed to not shop there any more. (I drove an extra 50 miles round trip for my last purchase, a monotribe)
They had a Fantom G there for three years and in that time the keyboard had never been cleaned, the keys are grimmy and the screen (and it is not a touch screen) was filthy.
I find this to be unexceptable for a $3K instrument. additionally many of the display models are missing knobs.
And yes I find the saleman have no knowledge of the equipment. _________________ Kronos-6, Krome, M3, Radias, KingKorg, microKorg, KP-2, KP-3, KO-1, KO-1 PRO, Karma, microX, monotron, monotribe, PadCONTROL, Wavedrum Mini, Volca Keys, Beats, Bass, Sample, monotron Duo & Delay, microArranger, M1, Wavestation, Volca Sample, Keys, Beats & Bass, MS-20

A retailer with a bit of intelligence would know better than to give a "promised shipping date". The Kronos ship date has been moved like 6 times...what would make them think this one is definitely going to be the one that happens. |

Fantom keys getting dirty has to do with known wear issues on the PHA key tops. I'm not sure GC could prevent that as many owners can't either. _________________ Shigeru Kawai SK5

Who knows what they (GC) are being told, it may not be their fault. Maybe Korg told them the 15th at some point and then reneged... I can't imagine them being jerks about this for kicks and giggles. |

This all makes me feel pretty happy I ended up buying locally in Australia and very lucky to get pne of the only 73's in Australia, originally I was going to import. Feeling sorry for all still waiting....not rubbing salt in the wounds but I'm loving my 73. |

Did u make a deposit ? If so, they owe u consideration .
And did u make a case that your delivery date was a "must have " ?
I have low expectations of Gc to begin with.
They used poor judgement in encouraging u. If you have been watching this forum for 6 months, u would know how volatile availability is. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Same with zZounds. They Moved their date to Sept 3rd. It isn't their fault they just didn't get any units from Korg. I Called Sweetwater to see if they got any in and my rep said not until Sept 4th. Hopefully they'll just show up soon. I know my zZounds rep told me their July shipment just showed up unexpectedly in June and they have been waiting for more units since then. AMS has told me they received 6 units last week but not enough to fulfill the pre orders. If you watch Ebay daily you can catch an 88 every once in a while but they are sold really quickly once they are posted. Everyone seems to be waiting on Korg to deliver the next shipment. _________________ Corey Mast

Hi Greg,
I've been reading this forum since shortly after the Kronos was announced. I understand the original delays because of the disaster. But we are way beyond that now I think.
I've never been required to put a deposit on any pre orders before at GC. I would have gladly done so to ensure a valid delivery date. I've talked to a few other stores today and early September seems to be the earliest for the 73's so far. Of those stores Sweetwater seems to be on top of things. I have a few more to check out before I submit another seemingly endless pre order. |
