|
|
Just wondering if anybody who's going to be moving their new K around a lot has sourced a suitable flight case for it yet....most of the ones I've found on the net seem to be generic 88 key models so I'm a bit concerned about the internal padding not giving sufficient protection to all the protruding knobs, sliders and joysticks on the K.
I do a lot of gigs, so I really need to keep my new baby well protected! |

You could probably pad the extra space with some soft foam or even bubble wrap?
Might also be handy for carrying some extra gear? |

If your gigging its worth getting a Bespoke one made ... I will always happily pay an added 10% of the cost of the product to get a bespoke case to protect my investment. _________________ 13in Retina MacBook Pro, Quadcore i5 27in 8GB iMac, Logic Studio 9.1, Ableton Live9, Push, Volca Beats, Korg KRONOS 61, Korg Arp odyssey, Roland D50, Yamaha SY85, Moog Sub37, Roland TR8, Roland SP808, Korg NanoPad2, Eventide H9, Presonus 1602, Alesis M1 MkII, Yamaha APX5, Fender Splattercaster, DrumKat DK10, 1000 miles of cable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Haven't got my case yet, but I thought that the Gator stuff had dodgy handles?

Mine certainly have dodgy handles, but the pictures I've seen recently seem to suggest they've changed them on the latest versions... hopefully that will have sorted the problem. |

Yep mine had dodgy handles too .... but if you open them up ( pull the liner away from the case you'll see that they have only used one screw on each side when there is holes for 2 each side, a petty cost saving if you ask me, i got suitable little bolts and haven't had a problem since.
and yes they have changed there handle design for the worse if you ask me as they now protrude much more than the old ones and will probably get knocked and damaged much more easily.

I use a lot of Gator stuff... and the handles seem quite solid to me. _________________

I've used both the 61 and 88 size and handles have come away or got loose on both ...I know use swan flight cases in the UK for all my cases, made to measure.

For USA owners of Kronos i recommend Roadrunner Cases from Guitar Center. Good price and a very solid case. I have one for my M3 73 and its on the road every weekend. Just a solid case without having to pay big bucks. |
