You know very well from the answers, that it's not about one post or one line, but about ONE MORE of a certain kind, and that less is more - of that kind.
Trying to fool a problem away instead of taking well meant feedback serious doesn't ALWAYS help. |

Quote: | Sharp, please realize, not every member likes reading Ozy's posts the way you like or tolerate it. |
My job is to be totally objective, so in relation to what you just said, I understand that the opposite can also apply. Not everyone hates his posts either. If fact it seems many find the guy quite funny and have said so publicly on the forum.
My personal feelings on the subject are immaterial as I can't make it personal at all when moderating. Rules are rules and so it's not a matter of what I'm willing to tolerate.
Quote: | For some reason you don't want to say to him: stop it, it's enough man! |
In the 6 years you have been here, when have I ever held back dealing with an issue that needed to be addressed?
I can't ban a guy for having a sense of humour. Ok, he takes threads off topic a lot, but generally people enjoy going along with it from what I can see. That's not something I can ban or discipline a guy over unless he's blatantly hijacking threads with intent.
Quote: | Anyone can list Ozy's all posts on the forum. 1661 so far in 27 months. Most of them fall into the "entertainment" category. |
Which is against what rule ?
Quote: | Many of us have this experience: you are watching a topic, you got an email notification, you click it - and what you find? Another "joke" or "yadda yadda" - his own words - from Ozy. A meaningless, useless comment in most cases. Do we really need this experience again and again? 1600 was not enough already? |
So what is it you are after here?
If Ozy posts a joke and you report him to me for that, you want me to what ?... ban him for having a sense of humour or joking too much?
If I did, would that be fair?
Quote: | But if he goes further and starts to drop provoking thoughts purposefully crossing the border of forum rules and/or some members' feelings then I think you are the person, as moderator, who should warn him. For the sake of the community. For the peace. For having high quality content again - that went down because of these activities. |
Sure, If / when that happens, I will. As I have always done with every single person who has ever needed to be spoken with or banned in my years running this site.
KORG FORUMS is a “community” for KORG end users to meet other users, have fun, hang out, enjoy, support each other and learn from each other. It is NOT a tech support website for a Company by where only “on topic” conversation is allowed.
Regards
Sharp. |

Personally I didnt see anything wrong with the photo as they were all 100% clothed! A little "edgy" but it wasnt violent or xrated ...or even r-rated?? And I didnt bother to read the photo file name either as Akos did.. but I dont see why all the hoopla?
Daytime TV and commercials have more sexual innuendos. Any kid on the internet can see 10x more than that OZY photo with a few clicks. Its the 20th Century.
For me, I see more of a problem with top music artists doing violent videos and gangster music. Such as Rihanna's new video of "Man Down" is a slap in the face of any kind of censors. Kids look up to her.. and listen to her... and her gunning a man down on a video I think is pitiful, and has more of an impact on kids. Todays new music has become all "Loops" and "Samples" and a contest between Pop artists to see who can arouse the media to sell a song. |

Ever since reading ozy's post about banging a couple of teenage girls in a motel room, many of his subsequent posts have rubbed me the wrong way too (I have a teenage daughter) so I definitely see Akos' point. I found some of ozy's contributions in the Japan earthquake threads to be particularly offensive.
I'm with you, Akos |

Everyone has the ability to simply go elsewhere. If they feel like a member is disruptive and they report and nothing is done about, then go to another forum, or start your own. That's what a lot of people have done in the past.
I just ignore "visually" the people I want to ignore. As soon as I see it's from someone I want to ignore, I just do it - especially on this forum.
BTW: this is not the only forum where you might feel attacked. There are lots of other places. _________________ Korg Kronos, RD-88, Yamaha VL1, Deep Mind 6, Korg Kross, author of unrealBook for iPad. |

Time for opinions, so here goes.
I enjoy creative humor, and Ozy shares a lot of that on this forum- it takes time to write those posts of his, and it's easy enough to skip over them if you're not interested. Even with the occasional risque posts/references, I've seen little that was over-the-top blatantly offensive. This is not particularly a site that most children would have any interest in, I really don't see the harm.
And he shares a lot of good technical info as well. A great contributor overall.
What I do object to however is the rancorous, abusively denigrating tone that he and others occasionally use. I find that incredibly abrasive and off-putting. This part of the forum was getting a lot of that from a whole bunch of folks for awhile.
I chalked it up to being cranky and impatient while waiting for the Kronos, but it's really hard to take when people start slinging shite at each other. Not helpful or entertaining or worthwhile in any way.
Randy
PS Wow- this is a self-censoring site. In the above paragraph I said a word that rhymes with fit and it came out as s**t. Is s**t a bad word? _________________ Keyboards: Kawai ES920 / Casio CT-X5000

I guess this is where the expression:
"you can't teach old dogs new tricks"
because Ozy should have learned from my picture with the headphone-sisters and not post something even inclining towards something sexual.
I didn't realise that such an "incident" would come up again, but it did.
I enjoy both Ozy's Hell posts and Akos's Heaven posts and I think you can't have one without the other really.
I must tend to my garden instead of commenting further I think....... _________________ .....Still waiting for the allusive, missing EXf for Oasys..... |
