It's the collection of all the patches that are sad, morose, and make you want to cut yourself, just to feel something, but still don't. They were all written for D minor, the saddest of all keys.

Were they also all written by James Blunt? He also makes me sad and want to hurt myself.

James Blunt seems more of a gateway Crying or Very sad drug to hardcore emo music. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

No, I have it on good authority that D minor is the saddest of all keys, according to Nigel Tufnel, British composer, historian, and legendary musician.

I also read that people who repeatedly write songs in d minor are more likely to write about their boyfriend/girlfriend leaving them than someone who writes songs in C. However, if you continually use both Dm and Am then you are more likely to kill yourself whilst writing the song. The national board of music related suicide recorded 43 Dm/Am related deaths last year. In one report they spoke to the victims flat mate, who reported hearing the incident as it happened. He told them "I could hear him through the door, it was awful. He was just going from Am to Dm then back again. I tried to get to him, really I did. But he just wouldn't stop."
If you or anyone you know has been effected by the Dm/Am disease then you must act now. It can only be cured by 24hrs of straight exposure to the Disney channel. Act now!

24 hours of the Disney channel? The cure is worse than the disease! That's like getting stuck on the Small World ride. I don't think I would survive the treatment. Maybe with MDMA I could learn to love the world, but alas, synths are my drug of choice. My favorite key is C minor, with a pentatonic scale, and F minor and G minor, for a 1, 4, 5 chord progression of some kind. I'm not sure if I need an intervention, as I won't admit that I have a problem.

that's not as sad as an EMO Dmin festival,

but when you write in C minor / pentatonic, usually

you wake in da mo'nin', and ya babe is gone

(sometimes the dog is dead or gone or hungry as well. never a cat, only dogs are involved)

a car may be there, or a truck, or a boat or a bus and most often a train, never a pogo stick, a japanese hybrid car or a lear jet [ok, once it happened a lear jet was famously involved, but the author meant to be sarcastic. And he was a brit after all]

and

everything is goin' down the river.

Never "up the river", always "down the river".

And the river is big and slow.

Don't ask me why things go "down the river" when you play C Eb/E F G Bb,

and even more DOWN the river when you play Bp A Eb/E G C,

but that's a known issue of the fluvial transportation system.

This is also why when playing that scale you gotta walk a lot,

and you talk a lot about shoes and boots. Never about slacks or fur coats.

Of course, walking a lot, you gotta be careful when you cross roads,

or you risk getting hurt (by a car, bus or train, seldom by a boat).

On a happier note,

if your are sad in a pentatonic scale,

you usually get laid far more often than the average EMO, and usually sleep one-night stands with poor but lively people of the opposite sex (as opposed to the EMO long-winded story with people of unspecified species, let alone sex).

But getting laid leaves you sad anyway.

Because when you wake up in da mo'nin', the babe is gone.

Repeat ad libitum.

But ozy, the pentatonic lacks the blue note. Ya gotta have the blue note for the true blues. I don't think you're allowed to shoot your wife's boyfriend in bed, unless you've got a blue note around, just to show dat he done had it comin, so now he's gots to pay the devil at the crossroads for sellin'iz soul.
