Zen2

What OS version are you running?

If its not the latest, an update might be worth a shot. Current OS version should come up momentarily as you power-up. Check download page here.

You shouldn't be getting a system error.

E should pull up an <init> bank, or programs -- it is nominally dedicated to the sampling RAM voices, but in reality is just the main USER bank - A thru D support the factory combis.

F - MOSS - bank button will have a null response (button won't select/function if MOSS is not present).

zen zen,

You can not add memory to restore the system. Memory does NOT appear to be your problem.

[Sample memory, which you could add, is not the problem. You can have NO sample memory and still save to "E" bank. MOSS, whether installed or not, should not give you a system error. "F" (MOSS Bank) should give you a bank of MOSS or <init> voices - or, if MOSS is not installed, should not select.]

The system error message refers to the system, not "memory". Updating to the latest OS (operating system) software MAY solve the problem. This is something YOU can do.

If it still does not work, there may be a hardware component to this problem and you will probably have to take it to a service technician. Not fixable by user.

you can not fix this yourself. Take it to a service engineer.

hold on... do you even have the MOSS installed? you shouldnt be able to use the F bank no matter what if you dont o_0
Bank E is a user/sample bank... are you loading any samples???
cause either of those things could mean bad ram port, or your moss slot (if its not occupied) is not in good shape either.

Banks themselves have nothing to do with samples. The F bank is different because it is reserved for MOSS, yes, but the other banks can contain any program/combination, doesn't matter whether they use internal or external or expansion samples. Its just a bank.

You may not have official KORG offices or service centres, but for example here in England I take my gear to a local keyboard shop where they do repairs on current and vintage synths. They have all the service manuals and can get the parts from KORG or whoever else etc, just like taking your computer to a shop to get fixed (which happens to be my personal area of expertise).

I'm aware, my poist was that perhaps hes loading samples and maybe the RAM could be giving him the system error, its worth checking to say the least. like removing ram and seeing if he still gets the system error
