Will recording software identify the signal or do I have to use the normal midiport? Yes, I have the usb midi drive installed (I just don't have any recording software, yet).

Thanks in advance!

Yes.
That is the main purpose of the USB port. It doesn't do anything else except for allowing software OS updates.

Hmm... Not sure I understand your reply.

Yes, my recording software will recognize the USB signal as a normal midisignal?

or

Yes, I have to use the normal midiport?

'recording software' will only recognise a signal from the xlr or trs outputs, unless your recording software also has midi capabilities. If it does, it will recognise the usb signal as a normal midisignal.
