Is the following possible? If not I hope to suggest it as a feature request.

Is "velocity switching" able to be changed to "random switching"?...

... Allocating four samples to a key, as per velocity switching, but instead of 'velocity' switching between the samples they're switched 'randomly' instead (random being the modulation source instead of velocity).

Reason being, when you want to sample something externally at the same volume, for example, the source often doesn't sound the same twice. Take analogue keyboards for instance - waveforms always start at different phases each time you press a key, and/or there are lots of subtle modulations on each key press that are unobtainable by mere programming after the event (within a ROMpler environment).

Or when sampling acoustic instruments, no sound is played the same twice, even if at the same pitch and volume.

It would be nice if you could therefore take several samples of the same pitch and volume, allocate them to one key, and have one of them chosen randomly when you hit that key, for realistic, non-static voices.

Obviously having velocity switching and random switching is far too deep (as it would increase the file sizes substantially as multi-samples would become three dimensional), but an option of allowing velocity switching to be switched to random switching instead of velocity switching (like velocity OR random, not both together) would be a big boon.

Did I explain that clearly enough? I ramble..

Actually, you can do this with a KARMA GE and KARMA Sofware. There is a GE Type named "Real-Time",
which you can set up so that it doesn't generate extra notes or phrases, but just echoes the notes you play,
and then you can use KARMA Wave-Sequencing to change the waveform with each note you play. You can
set up a pool of up to 16 different waveforms, and have it choose from them at random. I just set up the
following example:



In the first step of the pattern, you will see 16 waveforms chosen to form a pool (the column). Each time
I play a note, it chooses a different one at random. You can even use the weighting curve to the right to
make it so that samples towards the top, bottom, middle, or top/bottom have more of a chance of being
chosen than others (the example here shows it slightly weighted towards the bottom samples.)

There's a bit more to it than that, such as which oscillator is being affected, whether you're using a one
or two-oscillator program, etc. - but that's the gist of it.
