Lately i think Audya doesnt really have many competitors pricewise in the
higher end...T4 is almost as an Audya, PA3X (76) will be there and even
might be more money, the MS is up there too. Now one can buy a brand
new Audya probably in the 4400-4500$ range taxes included, T4 and PA3X
wont be much less then that, probably few hundreds bucks. To some might
make a difference but to some that number might not, considering a ready
instruments...especially people that owned or used Ketrons in the past.
But also dont forget that my opinion is a little biased by the community i live
or work for...ORIENTA...where noone really Shines besides Korg. Roland
never made it, Yamaha never made it, only a lil PSR A1000 and that was it
and the Tyros line many people dont even know exist. Ketron made it big
with the Vega series and that was ONLY Ketron Lebanon. At a time GEM
the Oriental Series was big but that was pretty much it. Korg is still the King
and outsolds any Brand and any Western country, Turkey is still probably
the biggest PA consumer in the world...i know for a fact it was few years back.
Its an 80 million people Nation and thats only a small part of the Oriental consumer.
Once you get to the Balkans (former Yugoslavia) thats where Yamaha and
Roland breath a little better, actually they made it big in there too.
I base my opinions only on my bussines experience, i deal with people from
all this places on a daily basis, with 10s of them and also lately with Westerners
too, in every 50 people aquiring KORG material from me only 4-5 are
aquiring for ALL of the other brands together. I did it actually by collecting
the information of 2 weeks, writing down each name, place they come
from and what they want/need and thats how i came to that conclusion.
In the last 5 years i had only 7-8 people ask anything about Tyros line
and the last 2 years Ketron is picking up very fast. Roland i dont remember
anyone aquiring something, maybe 2-3 people and the PSR series was
really dead to me customers wise, thats why i never did anything for it
even though i have a PSR. Korg is something else, its tens of them daily.
Those things are happening in the Software world too, Kontakt 4 AND fm 8
leading besides everything else with the exception of growing demand for
stuff for PlastiCZ from reFX and Prologue by Steinberg.
