Would be nice if Korg unlocked all expansions for Oasys . It's been a few years now since they discontinued it and they gave it all to Kronos for free .

I think that would be a great goodwill gesture from Korg.

Of course, this would not include giving any refunds on past purchases.

Giving away the OASYS EXis only costs Korg potential revenue, while giving refunds would cost real money.

Why do you People assume such things??? Show me where does it state
that Korg gives all of this for free in Kronos??? Can you provide a single
document where that is stated??? What is free to you??? Cux you paid
8000$ and someone will pay 3000$ for the same thing??? Does that make
it all free??? He is still paying 3000$, isn't he? You just paid more!
If i sold a library to one for 350 and the other for 50 he got it for free???

Thanks

You are proving you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry but it's true.

The extra synth engines for OASYS users were extras that had to be bought - having already paid 6 or 7 or 8 thousand $, they then had to buy the extra engines. Kronos users however get ALL engines included in the price - for less than $4k.

Therefore, based on the model that Korg themselves created, Kronos users get ALL engines without having to pay more money. Which means for free.

Get it now? Check your facts next time.

It is still not free...the presented as SUCH and they ask you for THIS MUCH.
So all of that inside Kronos, EXs and else costs 4000$ now...not free,
i think you should check your facts...i gave you an example of my computer
processor which i paid 1000$ for it but now is 160$...should i shoot my self?
Also, when i bought my Graphics Card if i registered i could've gotten the
Power Director for free and i didnt, now i gotta pay for it...so?

Hi Basmati,

For someone who doesn't give a damn about OASYS users,

BasariStudios wrote:
The Oasys ''People'' again? Guys you know you are annoying and who gives

Cello man, you need to check your self bro...or just buy a Cello.
On the other hand i am sick of O users, who gives a DAMN! about Oasys
users...NONSENSE! Who gives a DAMN if they paid 10000$. What does
Kronos have to do with Oasys users?...god bless us ALL!
Is this how you go about your EX Girlfriends too? Never let them go and
always abuse them and not leave them alone? Oasys is past...forget about
it, if you have it keep it and use it, if not buy a Kronos, if you dont have
Money then buy a Cello...anything...just please stop and be real.

Year and a half ago i built a monster computer, probably stronger then all
of your gear, the Processor it self cost me almost 1000$...now the same
procesor is 160$...should i shoot my self now? Go on with your life man.

I find it quite amusing that here you are now on the OASYS section of the forum.

If you dont give a damn about us then why bother wasting your valuable time by posting here. Surely with a nice 27 inches monitor and 100 GBs of Porn, you have more important things to do, so please do yourself a favour and spare yourself yet more annoyance on this section of the forum which is for us OASYS users who you say you don't give a damn about Smile

I agree with Martin.

Any Oasys with the most current O/S already has the EXi's but it just requires a Korg generated unlock code that the user needs to punch into their machine.

The current system for that, on korguser.net, is setup to charge for generating this code and that would require some work to change.

Personally I would be willing to pay a small administrative fee to receive the unlock codes but I would not pay ~$650 for anything for a discontinued product...

Having those unlocked EXi's would also help offset the now decreased value of the Oasys for those intending to sell theirs.

I'm not getting my hopes up but it sure would be nice for at least some of the Oasys owners. Unfortunately I have no suggestions that would help the Oasys owners that had already purchased the EXi unlock codes. Sad

@cello

My Friend, I too am struggling with this new development and I don't currently know how to get over it. I have tried turning the Oasys on and playing for a while but the bad thoughts just keep returning. Perhaps it's just an issue that time will heal or perhaps I will always feel bitter. Regardless, one must continue with ones priorities. I keep telling myself to be objective and continue forward. Rolling Eyes

Kind regards,
Rick

No, no - let him keep writing - otherwise I wouldn't have gotten my best laugh of the day ... that was when t_tangent turned Basari into Basmati!
ROFL

Ok - sorry Basari for that ... I usually don't make fun about other people's name. Embarassed But your "appearance" here was a bit ... strange. Rolling Eyes

I can see your point (4000 bucks is not "for free"). I don't share it though because Korg obviously changed its model of selling EXis - that is: giving them away for free now. Not just blending them in and out like we got them before PAYING for the unlocking. Moreover attacking people just because they've bought something ... naja, ich lass' mal gut sein. Wink

I would be very grateful to Korg if they would consider a substantial price reduction for the LAC-1 and MOD-7 unlock codes, due to the arrival of the new full-featured KRONOS Very Happy

You're missing the point completely........several times I noticed.

By your logic:
When you bought your Graphics Card AND you registered, then you SHOULD get Power Director for free.........BUT you didn't!
The company, wrote that you WOULD get it, they told you, written in the manual even, including their own homepage e.t.c. and you still DIDN'T receive it.
Wouldn't you then feel a little bit kicked to the side?

I always thought there was something horribly wrong with that. I mean seriously, the most expensive synth sold in a decade and then they nickel and dime you!

If the Kronos required more money to get all the engines unlocked I would not buy it.

And that might be the reason they've "changed the game": to sell more. Which is very ok. But Korg has to think about current users too and how to deal with them (if you value your customers). That does not necessarily mean, that you give a refund or anything else. But at least EXPLAINING a bit WHY you're doing what ... might calm down current Oasys users. Rolling Eyes

Personally I wouldn't have a problem if Korg told us: "Ok, Oasys will not be produced any longer. We got new powerful and cheaper hardware. We will change our business model to get much more customers etc." The real sad thing here is, that there seem to come no more updates for Oasys. A wiser move might have been to continue somehow like this: "You've helped us financing the development of Oasys and its technology, which is now largely used for Kronos. We appreciate that and want good relations with our customers, esp. Oasys-customers. Therefor we promise you that all improvements for the Kronos that could technically be implemented into Oasys will be delivered to you as well - for free." Now, that would have been cool! Cool
