Well, while pa3x is apparently still in development for another few months I thought it might be a good idea for a Discussion on what we think it should include - For the attention of Korg of course.

A couple of things that come instantly to mind....
At least 512mb on-board sampling Ram, with the price of Ram nowadays I don't think this is a biggie to ask....
and Style selection and review from usb or HD which is only a software consideration.

I hope others contribute to this thread addressed to Korg. Lets see if we can get some important things to us personally implemented. Korg could make the pa3x an absolute thriller keyboard if they really wanted to for very little extra cost! Smile

I feel that pa3x will be great, and I hope they will include more updates in this keyboard. But 1+ point to you. Pa3x should at least have 512 mb ram, this is not much to ask for.

Hi Keith

Are we sure about this - I wondered if in fact it was in production rather than development - what I mean is, they have released it and I wonder if the few months we wait are in fact production line related rather than development. We have conflicting reports regarding its ETA (anywhere) varying from March to May. I would be surprised if Korg would make any structural changes now - maybe some future OS update plans perhaps...

I know no more than anyone else - just my thoughts....

Cheers

Software with it would be the best thing but Revieing styles from USB will
probably be useless if the styles rely on user stuff like sounds and drums.

WE MUST HAVE A EASY WAY TO COMBINE SETS!
WE MUST NOT FIGHT THE FILE STRUCTURE PROBLEM LIKE ON THE PA2 ANYMORE!

In the keyboard of software...OK even though I prefer software approach.

Hi Keith,
I have a list of things that I know others will enjoy having them too, but let's first find out whether PA3x is still under construction or fully developed?

I guess I should have said - Well, while pa3x 'COULD STILL BE' in development for another few months. However, there is still probably time for some software upgrades if not Hardware. So fire away with your software wishes, who knows they may be granted and even if not first release then maybe second. It can only do good to let Korg know what we expect from them Smile

Well Sam, I would list them as it was said on one of the Demo's that pa3x would be ready by around May. This says to me that it is not the finished product, it didn't sound like a finished product either. I think it was rushed out especially for Namm to just give it an airing in public. Probably too late for Hardware changes but certainly not for Software. My personal opinion is that when it is finished it will be twice what it appears to be at this time. Very Happy

Yes Keith,
I tend to agree...

Much the same as the Kronos pre-NAMM video was meant to do, I think the small showing and scant info, is meant by Korg to be a teaser for the main event at MusikMesse.

And to introduce to the USA music world (notoriously blase re arranger keyboards) the PA3.

I do however think the OS is pretty much set in stone. I do not believe there will be anything changed re the OS, apart from any minor bugs and glitches that appear before MM.

PA3x as a module ... er ... I've been requesting a Korg PA tech based module for several years ... actually, since my i40M bit the dust. I have a feeling that this may be the one - the PA3XM! Pray
Ciao,
Jerry

QUALITY SOUND...I don't mean effects..I mean SOUNDS (Samples and programming, articulations)etc.

Korg has all the rest beat everywhere else (PRO features, functions, editing, 76 great keys etc) ...but , IMHO the sounds are not good enough.

For those of us that do not play for a dance group etc...we need very high quality orchestral, piano, guitars etc sounds.

The Yamaha T4 orchestral sounds are way ahead.

Korg...you can do it! Spend the money! You have time...You will get it back!

Or, maybe a lot of it will go away?
