it's most unlikely to be like that...kronos is the new synth engine that will be used in korg new generation workstations..its a result of more than 6 yrs of research and developing..unfourtantly for the guys who were waiting for update to their m3... ..but iam very happy since we might witness new age in synthesizers that might bring korg back to be the leader in the business....!!! _________________ current gear: korg T3 EX,Ketron vega ex4 ,shure microphone ,sony pro headphones

I hope KRONOS makes the M3 obsolete.
I hope all M3 owners rush out & buy KRONOS.
I hope I will be the only person in the world left composing on the M3.
That would make me very happy. |

Kronos is Korg's new synth engine? Where did you pull that from?
1st, Korg doesn't advertise synth engines, they advertise products.
2nd, KRONOS sounds like something similar to KARMA and possibly something arranger related.
3rd, the M3 sucks. We get it. Move on... _________________ Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha). |

Perhaps it isn't a keyboard or workstation at all.
"where does your music come from? the heart? the mind?"
For example currently we currently KAOSS, which allows you to manipulate notes or effect parameters in an oddly 'natural' way.
Have you seen these toys out recently where you control a ball (well, a fan which applies an upwards force to a ball) by concentrating on it? (or technically any object) They use EEG technology... I've just read some interesting articles about the same technology being used to create game controllers and other things.
...nice thought anyway.
I would be extremely surprised if this was a new Korg Workstation.
Also I believe that the RADIAS is due for a replacement? _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

I do.
I use one daily:
It's a very old technology (more or less two centuries).
They call it "a glove" (or a "mitt", in the fingerless version for organ players):

"What if one instrument could empower your creative spirit?"
My bet is on a new workstation.
Either that or a new synth. |

Korg certainly aren't making it easy on me! I was going to order either the m3 or the pa800 today (needs to be before Tuesday as the tax goes up on everything and I'll end up paying £40 more). I was pretty sure that Korg weren't going to announce an amazing new product at Namm as they're not on the bill to do any presentations. But now I see this!
What do you think the chances are that the Kronos will be an arranger or a workstation? Also, if they do announce a new keyboard at Namm, how long does it usually take for it to hit the shops?
Should I wait and risk paying extra money with the tax increase?

Just thinking here, I sense that Yamaha might have just gotten caught rotten with their trousers down around their ankles.
While they milk the living hell out of the Motif Cow once more, have KORG turned up with an entirely new workstation and new technology?... lol... Cool..!!!
Regards
Sharp. |

That blurb in the video clip just doesn't seemed aimed at professional musicians.
One instrument to empower your creative spirit?
Pros don't care about empowering their creative spirits.
They want an instrument that can do certain things they
need it to do.
I could be wrong. I often am.
Yamaha has TYROS.
KRONOS is a really cool name for a workstation.
I'll give it that.
Personally, I'm happy with my M3m. I hope all of you rush out
to buy KRONOS. I'd be overjoyed to be the only composer in
the world using an M3m for my music. |
