We should all beg the guy at the Extreme Sample converter page to include M3 export in his next update. If enough of us send an email we could have dedicated conversion and the community really needs this. I think the Extreme converter is the one to go for as it is really the most flexible conversion without a lot of fuss and it will be Mac osx as well as Pc soon. So let the guy know send him an email so our community can get this much needed utility before the M3 enter's its decline. Send your request here support@extranslator.com

however sf2 does work.

There is Awave as a sample convertor and it does its job for over ten years now!
The only downside is, its Windows only. But so is Extreme Sample converter.

Far as I know he is working on adding KORG sample formats. User BasariStudios contacted the developer about all this and from what I can remember the news was positive.

That said, the last update of Extreme Sample Converter was back in 2008-06-18.

I often wonder has the guy just given up. If an injection of cash is needed to get him motivated and backing working on version 4.0, I'd be happy to pay him for my copy in advanced.

I've been using his software quite a long time now and I would just hate to see it die off.

I know Garth at Chicken Systems was working on adding M3 support to his Translator program. Not sure if it's done yet. Send him an e-mail for more info.

Awave is good you have sf2 in there and old Korg formats. I just wish there was a more elegant way to load custom stuff to the M3.

The post on the developers page seems promising. I myself have been working on a software vst for three years so I can understand when a single developer takes some time to produce an update.

Chicken Systems just covers the Triton same as Awave.

Ouch...
I personally wouldn’t recommend Chickensys Translator to anyone. It's bloody awful software that for the most part does not work right.

I've had the top version for years and it's never worked right. Corrupt files, incorrect filing of data, crashing, program not even closing in the task manager when closed, …. I could write a pretty long list of reasons to avoid it.

ESC is probably the best option, Awave is good too and CST i dont really
like, thats just my personal opinion. As far as i know and remember i got
Wlodzimier from ESC in direct talks with Korg Menagement and after that
they took over, i have talked to him few times in the past and he said that
he is still working on the project which i believe so too.
And yes, as James said, if needed i would pay in advance for a copy too.

Do ESC even need to add native KORG Format at this point ?
The M3 fully supports SF2 format so what gain would there be in adding KORG native formats?

I'd be very happy with the Mapper and support for KONTAKT 4 conversion to other formats.

Regards
Sharp.

Keeping on topic, there is Samplit by the maker of CDXTRACT.

It runs on Windows and Mac OSX
(PowerPC and Intel processor) and can
export to 9 sampler formats:
· Halion (Steinberg)
· EXS24 (Apple)
· Kontakt (Native Instruments)
· Sampletank (IK Multimedia)
· Reason (Propellerheads)
· VSampler (MAZ Sound Tools)
· Soundfont (EMU)
· Gigasampler (Tascam)
· Structure (Digidesign)

So you have the standard sf2 format and this one isn't a converter so to speak but a cloner so you can automate ripping an entire hardware device or vsti to sf2.

You can find it here http://www.cdxtract.com/samplit.php

Along the same lines is SampleRobot found here http://www.esi-audio.com/products/samplerobot/

There is also VDumper It is free, and outputs sf2.
It is a sampling and multi-effect rack which allows you to create multi-samples from VSTi plug-ins and external devices.

Find it here. http://www.vdumper.com/

Or download it directly. http://www.vdumper.com/VDumper.zip

So off topic now..... does anyone know off software that I could write a new set of chords to the M3 chord pads and store multiple sets of chords on the computer?

Sent these guys some samples on Ensoniq floppies to convert to Motif or Triton format, they never did it, took my 40 bucks and quit responding to emails. Evil or Very Mad
