|
|
Hi guys,
My guitar player gave me a volume pedal he is not using to try it out on the M50.
The pedal is a ZOOM Corporation FP01 which has an IN / OUT and EXP. female connectors (1/4") and a rotary knob on one side.
Do you guys think this pedal should work with the M50? I want to use it mainly for organs: could you please tell me how to connect it to the M50 / amp?
Thanks _________________ Current gear

I think it should. The EXP socket is for expression, so connecting it using a stereo plug cable to the assignable pedal plug on the M50, and setting it the controller in Global mode as volume will allow you to control the volume of the M50's keybed. Remember that it will not control the volume of any other controller connected to the M50 via MIDI.
The IN/OUT I think it works as standard volume controller, but it should be monophonic, so is not a good idea to use it for volume since you'll be able to control just a single channel.
There it might be another things you can do with the expression control, I don't know if you saying that you'll use it for organs primarily you can use it for say the rotating speaker speed or something like that. Still I think it can be done as well.
If it doesn't work at first, try setting the polarity in Global mode until it works.
The rotary knob is for setting the minimum volume level. Just put the pedal in its lowest position, play a chord and move the knob until you get the volume level you want as lowest. _________________ Martin Ocando

Is strange. Things to check:
In Global Mode, Controllers:
- Pedal format: KORG or the other setting (can't check right now, I'm in the middle of a power outage )
- Pedal Polarity: + or -
- Cable: Should be a 1/4 standard Stereo plug (rod, collar, tip) to work
If you checked all of them, then is either bad or the wiring is not compatible with keyboards. _________________ Martin Ocando

There's no polarity setting for Pedal. Polarity is for the Switch input.
On Pedal (Global) I've tried setting the pedal to work as Volume or Expression and no fruit either. _________________ Current gear

JAJAJAJA no te burles. Tu sabes que sí. Ya llegó.
I was checking and indeed there is no polarity setting for the expression pedal. I guess it won't work with keyboards. _________________ Martin Ocando

So it's a mono pedal? You can try it also that you put a plug cable from M50's L/MONO out to the input of the pedal and from the pedal's output to your monitor or whatever you're using. But the signal is then mono. There are also stereo volume pedals and they have two inputs and outputs. _________________ KORG M50-61, SP-200 Blue Edition
