proSynth preliminary specification

A 19 inch fanless rack module with real time streaming of samples and sounds direct from very fast Intel X25 solid state disk, 80 GB initially & can be expanded to 1 TB or more.

Turn it on and 20 seconds later it's ready to play. No sample RAM, no sample load time. No need for sample RAM expansion.

Many sounds based on over 500 MB of multi-layer samples, e.g. the Irish Acts mega grand piano.

126 oscillators of polyphony, each oscillator is playing real-time streaming samples of up to 200 MB in size (but typically 1 MB or so). Freely assignable effects, every sound has its own dedicated two insert EFX and you can chain EFX from one channel to any other channel.

Sample and sound resolution and all D-A and A-D converters are 24-bit DVD audio quality.

Every parameter for every sound and every EFX block is controllable via MIDI.

Plays back audio tracks and GM2/GS2 and MP3 files, and real audio drum/ percussion loops.

GM2/GS2 compatibility mode built in, but using multilayer sounds and 24-bit samples comprising over 1 GB storage.

Can be used as an expander for Pa2x, M3 or any other MIDI keyboard.

Contains 34 DSP processor cores providing 24-bit digital audio synthesis and effects, plus Intel Atom low power CPU running the real time OS and providing streaming interface via SATA to the Intel V35.

USB2 MIDI and Audio connection to PC and MAC.

Keyboard connection via two sets standard MIDI and two MIDI over USB.

Two or more proSynth units can be chained together to increase polyphony as required. MIDI input events are distributed automatically between multiple proSynths.

    Target price 1600 Euros.
