Our church is shopping for an 88 Key weighted board for use with the praise band This will mainly get use from "piano players".............meaning most of the users have little or no experience with synthesizers. I'm currently on drums with this project and have an M50-61 to throw into the mix but I'm debating between recommending an 88 key M50, or the SV1.

Thoughts ??

I'm dealing with the same issue but leaning towards the SV-1 73. The M-50 88 is a very nice synth for the price and a lot of fun to play but I have to transport the keyboard and the SV-1 is 8 pounds lighter. It's been very hard finding an SV-1 to demo bit i finally located one 5 hours from where I live. I must have called at least 20 stores. Also, I have a Triton EX 76 and Motif XS8. As much as I like the M50 88 I just don't need another workstation. The AP on the SV-1 sounds exceptional to me as well as the other sounds. But, that's from listening to Youtube videos. Can't wait to get my hands on one.

I don't have one but I think the SV1 very much has the more ease-of-use and immediacy that you are looking for with non-synth players.

I haven't called around to see if anyone has a demo on the floor to try. The u-tube stuff sounds very encouraging though. Thanks for the feedback.
