I believe it is in the name.
The extreme was the last triton to be released, and is a great live keyboard. It has a lot (all?) of samples included from the expansion boards, so you don't need to add expansion boards for sounds. It also has a large number of banks/program locations, and has the added bonus of the Valve-Force tube pre-amp circuit which you can send sounds through to add analog warmth or distortion.
The extreme also features a USB-MIDI connection for CF storage access and MIDI link, and a Compact Flash (CF) card slot, and 120 note polyphony.
The Triton studio is older. It has classic keyboards samples added I believe, from one of the EXB-PCM expansion boards, and also has a built in hard disk drive, which the Extreme lacks.
There is further information on Wikipedia, of all places, which in this case is fairly accurate, including a nice comparison table:

Thanks Sina172 and X-trade for very good descriptions about my favorite tritons family.
I will choose THE KING OF TRITONS (TRITON EXTREME).
Thank you again my friends. |
