Hello I am new to this forum. Does anyone know if it is possible to play a solo pad sound on the sv1? I know there is a piano/pad, but is there a way to get a pad on it's own?

Yes, that would be really great, if you could just play a pad. I've tried to turn the volume of the pad to the max, but you will still here the piano as well.

Korg, can you help?

The only way I know is to use one of the AMP simulators with DRIVE setting zero. Now you don't hear the piano, but you still hear the pad sound, cause the layers and noise sounds bypass the AMP simulator.

That tip WILL work, but only if you've upgraded to OS 1.1. That's when we moved the pad from the layered sounds into the RX element....

Upgrade and then try again.

Regards,

Jerry

Hi Jerry,
My SV-1 keeps flipping the octaves of the pad sound in the last 2 octaves (13 version). Only on the pad layered sounds. It's REALLY ANNOYING, since I play the church talk-music, where you get to jump from bottom to the top quite often. It always scares me to death, as it seems like I'm playing wrong notes. Is it only my piano, o a general thing.

Thanks a lot,
Ondrej

P.S.: Taken that I was able to play only the pad sound by turning down the amp simulator, they could possibly be played from an external midi keyboard, right? (with an optional sw tweak...)
