I've been trying to use my Microkorg Xl with Samplitude 14 as a MIDI device but can't seem to get it to work. The program recognizes it and I set the MIDI In as the MK XL then I choose Vita as my synth and try and play some notes on my Korg but I get nothing. I'm using the USB connection. I'm probably overlooking something very simple but if anyone is familiar with this program some input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You may notice this section is called:
Quote:
Mastering & Mixing
This section is used for discussing the art or Mastering and Mixing for that final professional quality recording.

Not really for the MicroKorg XL - there is a more appropriate forum for the MicroKorg and MS2000 series further up the index:
Quote:
Korg MS2000 & microKorg
Discussion relating to the Korg MS2000, MS2000B & microKorg.

However, the MicroKorg XL isn't related to the MicroKorg in terms of sound engine, so if you have any sound complex programming questions or discussions, you may get better results on the R3/Radias forum, as the XL is the same sound engine as the Radias and R3.

Anyway, with regards to your question, have you installed the KORG USB-MIDI Driver? I reccommend you download the latest driver from the KORG website for a start, the one on the disk will never be as new. And the driver is universal for all KORG USB products.

also, with the KORG USB-MIDI driver, simply installing the driver isn't enough. that just puts the drivers in your system directory, but windows uses its own drivers for the MicroKorg, which are incorrect. To pair the driver with the device, you will need to use the utility in Start > Programs > KORG > KORG USB-MIDI Driver > Install KORG USB-MIDI Device

Sorry I posted in this forum because I figured it was more of a software issue. Sorry if I hurt your feelings but thanks none the less for the feedback.
