Can this only be done with the dial?
If so it would be pretty hard to accurately jump from pattern 1 to 5 to 12, then back again, no?
And how does the transition of the pattern sound when switching (ie; does it 1/ stay locked until the end of the bar then switch or 2/ jump to the next pattern in realtime as the dial is rotated...admittedley this 2nd option would be less practical but still very, very interesting!).
Lastly, is there any way of assigning Pattern Sets to the M-Sampler, like on the Electribes? |

as far as i know, you can only select patterns via dial.....
again it would have been nice to simply have a 'pattern' button and select patterns by holding that down and then clicking 1-16 of the keys.....which is how i hope they're going to make 'keyboard' selection work with an update.....
but it works ok with the dial for patterns as it is, not clumbsy or anything....
i think you have two options as far as how it will go from one to the next.....
1. plays to end of the current bar then switches.
2. plays to the end of the pattern then switches,
i think its a 'global' option...
i think if you want to chop between patterns instantly you'd have to resample them individually to keys.........but this is solid as you can specify how many bars and set trigger to 'note on', so you get a perfect loop. then i guess mess about with them and record results to a new pattern or whatever....
i dont know what you meant about 'pattern sets' so i cant be of any help..... |

On the Korg Electribes, thankfully, you can assign any of 16 patterns to a step key for quick pattern jumping (otherwise you are playing a russian roulette type live set with the twitchy pattern dial). If the Microsampler has this feature (probably on the keys) then great. |

yeah, you can do that by resampling the patterns to keys....but then you lose the dead on accuracy of having the patterns change dead on the bar. depends how important that is to you..... |
